Works great in my older house
I got this for my parents house for the room which we stay in when we visit, the house was built in 1950 so it doesn't have a/c and the room that me and or my siblings stay in when we visit is the hottest in the house, it probably took me about an 45 min to install and secure to the window, and it works amazing, that room is now the coldest in the house, my parents like how it has a remote so they just open the door a bit and turn it on with the remote about an hour before we get there and the room is nice and cold when we arrive

completely stopped working
Have had this in use less than a year! It's been in the window for 2 months: all buttons stopped working. The temperature starts rising on the unit display and buttons won't work to turn is down. Been on with customer service 4x today and they are not doing anything.. whirl pool customer service is bull.

    Large and Heavy
    Item arrived quickly but is very heavy. We had to remove front face and actual unit to install side panels, which seemed ridiculous. Screws prevented an easy return of the unit into the cabinet. We understand now why but we were not prepared to do all this to get it installed in our window. It is the largest A/C unit we have ever ordered for our home. Takes two people to lift

    A winter storm in a box.
    This unit moves more air than any AC I've owned, which is a good feature. I have had it for a week now and it is doing wonders for the temp in our home. The controls are easy to use and there is none of the "smart" WiFi junk to complicate things. the only drawback I find is that the green temperature indicator LED display is ON all the time. In a bedroom environment those lights can be annoying. I put a section of sticky-notes over it to darken it.

    details? here you go! the material that holds the unit was totally plastic!! oops! don't drop it! units aren't made like the old days!! today is cheap plastic!!! could say more, but i think you get the message! now, for a little positiveness, the air flow is good for a 5000 unit for a kitchen!! does very good at night! gave 3 stars because of unit's material.

    Quality Control issue / Works good otherwise.
    Purchased the 22k model. It arrived fast and on time. The box was in ok shape. The unit was undamaged. I bought it to mount through the wall in an existing wall opening. Upon unpacking I found that the included top rail inside this sealed box was not brand and didn't math the unit. The foam insulation had already been applied to the underside of the rail, and was tore up as it must have been already stuck to another unit and was later removed. When laid across the top of the unit, the pre drilled holes did not match up to the ones on the unit, and the screws provided passed right through the holes on the top of the unit, but not the bar. The unit was brand new, I examined it very closely, so obviously there is a story behind this discrepancy in quality at the factory. I had to adapt and improvise to work around that issue, and the rest of the install went well. I do like the unit's performance . It cools down the area and shuts off as it should . Runs much quieter that the last smaller unit it replaced ,and the air flow is very good. Would have given it 5 stars but there was a quality issue. Lastly the filter is unimpressive and fit is not very snug...lots of dust is getting around that for sure...I used a little clear tape to hold it snug at the sides... I should not have to do that.

    A better way of shipping heavy items.
    Box was damaged during shipping. Air conditioner frame was bent. Unit does work. Would have returned it but doesn't currently have air at the house.

    The unit isnt exactly as pictured. I like it anyway. It was easy to install by myself. It was a little heavy but manageable. It blows cold air and seems to work fine so far. It has many features I didt realize.
