Keeps lungs, sinuses and skin moisturized
This is my second one. My first one lasted over 3 years and due to high mineral content of our water, the heating element became too hardened with mineral deposit that soaking in white vinegar no longer could remove. Now I use distilled water because the humidifier is so valuable in winter keeping my lungs, sinuses and skin moisturized. It's totally worth it! Great product.

warm mist humidifier
While it does work, kindof. It just doesn't put off nearly enough mist to make a difference. I had it in a 300 sqft bedroom. On its highest setting, it could only bring the humidity from 25% to 30%. Will be returning, not worth the money if it can't bring the humidity to my desired level of 45-50%

    DO NOT BUY! LEAKS HORRIBLY
Leaked the first time we used it and didn't put out any humidity. Didn't even have it plugged in and it leaked all over our table.

Handle cracked within a week of using it.
I loved this humidifier untol the 5th day of using it. I filled it with water and the handle cracked! I want to have the same unit but if I cannot even carry it, it loses any postives. i expected more from the brand.

    A great purchase, operates flawlessly!
I am writing about the Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier that I purchased this winter. I have never owned anything except a Holmes brand vaporizer. To say the least they are a challenge to keep running. It will be working fine, you fall asleep, wake up with a dry, cracked, bleeding nose, to find it stopped working with the tank of water still full..... My Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier is working above and beyond my expectations. It is easy to fill, easy to clean and easy to sanitize. I turn it on high and I have about a quarter of a tank of water left after 9 hours. It has yet to fail me one time. If the humidity is up outside, I can run it on low at night and get two nights out of one tank of water. I do have a hygrometer in my bedroom and the humidity is staying exactly where it is supposed to be during the night. I am so happy with my purchase I am going to buy another for my living room.

    Great but acrylic cracks!
Love the humidifier- I have 3- 2 started leaking at different times- went to clean them and BOTH have cracks in the acrylic in SAME place so it leaks! One leak is slow so we had been placing a pan underneath- the other leaks SO much it's not usable! I am so disappointed! It must be a manufacture defect in this part of the acrylic for them both to have cracks in same place. Otherwise I WAS happy with them but won't be buying this one again!

    super noisy
it did great adding humidity to the air but ever couple of minutes it sents an air buble through the tank that is super noisy. it makes it impossible to sleep with in your bedroom. maybe better in a different room in the house

    Useless for illnesses.
I have used Vicks vaporizers for years and been happy. I am very disappointed in this one. It emits the most pitiful bit of steam and I saw NO difference in the air. I added about half a teaspoon of salt but the difference was minimal. I would take it back for a refund and get something else, but it seems ALL the new ones are made like this so it would not be better. I went back to boiling a pan of water on the stove! I am not rich and $37 could have been better spent.

    Good purchase for the price
have only used my humidifier for about a month but so far it is operating without problems. It is super easy to fill. The only thing i don't like is it does not seem to put out alot of moisture even on high.

    Absolutely horrible!
Wish I would have seen the reviews before I bought it, but bought it in a hurry. It was so noisy, hardly any most was put out, or the vicks smell. The last straw was when I herd water dripping in the middle of the night and it had leaked all over the dresser. Water was dripping out of the knob to turn it on. Hoping wal mart takes the return. So disappointed.

Literal Garbage Broken After 1 Use.
Bought new, used once and put away squeaky clean on a shelf by itself. Months later my son got sick so I pulled it out to use at 3AM, check the unit (it's clean and looks brand new), fill it with fresh distilled water, turn it on aaaaand it doesn't work. Red light. Empty basin, refill, reseat, reset, red light. Try again, red light. Does not work after the second use. Will not work when you need it the most. UNRELIABLE GARBAGE. AVOID.

    So far so good
I've had a humidifier in the past and I recently decided to get another one since I have a history of asthma and to help combat this dry winter air. I haven't had any leaking problems yet but then again I only use this on its lowest humidity setting. The heating element helps kill 95% of bacteria and that's a plus since I'll realistically be using tap water for this. I know that purified water is best but hey. I do have to clean it once a week though to remove the scale buildup and I find that a combo of distilled vinegar, lemon juice and hot water work best for me.

    Awful
I bought it based on reviews however.......................I didn't like it. Were they fake reviews?? The opening to put the water in is at the bottom. Every time I lift it up, there's water still left at the bottom of machine and the container leaks whether lifting it up or turning it upside down to refill. I don't like it.

    Great humidifier, but... (please read!)
Great humidifier, very easy to set up and start using, works well and it's pretty quiet. It has definitely helped me breath better through the night. This humidifier is a warm mist device (as opposed to the ultrasonic cool mist). I prefer this type for winter. It has only 2 settings, low or high, which is actually enough. The vapor/steam comes out through a "chimney", which is fixed, so you need to turn the whole unit in order to redirect the vapor. It has the option to use vapopads. I haven't tried them yet. With a full tank of water, you can run it on low for about 18 hours before needing to refill (about 2 nights). Operation is fairly quiet, makes a soft rain-type sound that's actually soothing to sleep. The big "BUT" is... I bought this for the "filterless" feature. As I read the instructions I realized this unit needs to be cleaned/descaled and disinfected every week; the process is done soaking/cleaning some of the parts in vinegar first and then with a bleach solution. According to the instructions it should take about 50 min, but I found that I took me easily over an hour to wipe, soak, scrub and rinse all the pieces. As I said, first with vinegar and then with the bleach solution. The booklet mentions the option to purchase a filter for it too, so if you don't have time or don't want to go through the trouble and spending an hour or so every week cleaning the humidifier, you might want to buy the filter from the beginning. Note: failure to clean the unit as often as directed will cause the heating element to get badly "encrusted", which will make next cleaning harder and longer (believe me, I missed a week and I regretted it!). Of course if your tap water is "harder" there will be more calcium deposits and viceversa. Another option is to use distilled water. I feel like the extra expense of the filter or distilled water kind of defeats the purpose of the "filterless" feature, but I guess there's always a catch. Aside from the trouble of cleaning, it's a great purchase!

    Love it!
Love this warm moisture humidifier. Helps us keeping our rooms with healthy amount of humidity during winter season. Totally recommend it! Easy to use, easy to clean, make sure to NOT use tap water. We use distilled water to avoid hard deposit build-ups.

    Not worth it.
I own several Vick's humidifiers in my home but this is the first time trying the warm mist. Oh boy what a junk, super noisy, very little mist on the highest settings, the compartment for the cough suppressant is a total waste of time because you cannot smell it in the already little mist. Better off pouring it in the water like I've done with the Vick's cool mist humidifiers I have in every room.

Warm Moisture Makes All the Difference
I use this humidifier by Vicks every day because I live in the dry desert. It helps to add moisture back into the air. My skin loves it and so do my plants. The warm moisture makes all of the difference when I'm using it while sick. It helps me to breathe easier without catching a chill. If you add the Vicks scent, your sinuses will clear quickly. Don't waste your money on anything else!

    Worst ever product
Purchased this item in Walmart store. The instruction manual didn't specify which type of water to use. After using three types of water; tap, filtered, and distilled, and cleaning the unit according to the manual instructions, the heating element corroded badly. Water leaked from the humidity control knob and underneath the base of the unit. I would recommend Walmart not sell this unit anymore and save money and time of shoppers returning this unit.
