Super little heater!
I purchased two of these heaters for an apartment above a garage at our cabin in northern Arizona. Most of our company come to visit during the summer, to escape the heat in Phoenix, so we were not concerned with a heat source in the winter. We purposely built the apartment without heat, but with AC, knowing it wouldn't be used much in the mountain temps. This winter, however, we had guests for 4 days over Thanksgiving. Knowing that it would be chilly at night, I decided to invest in portable heaters. After reading the reviews for this brand and model, I decided to purchase them. Despite their small size, they throw off an incredible amount of heat! I started the heaters on the highest settings, using the full blower, to test what they could do. Using two units in a large family/dining/kitchen/bedroom area, the two heaters warmed the area so much, that I had to turn the setting to the lowest point. Our guests ran the heaters on low, with half blower power, during the night, and stated that they were actually too warm! I am still quite surprised at the heating capacity of this model. I would definitely recommend this heater to anyone!

Don't know how long this heater will last, haven't used yet, bought two ct16450 heaters last winter. Both power switches burned out within two months, returned for credit but other heaters were sold out. Which is why l am buying this early, hope it will at least last all winter.

    Great for a small space
I use this space heater under my desk to help keep my warm while I work. It does a great job doing that. I can't speak to how warm it would keep an entire room though. I also took away one star because when you use the oscillate feature, it's a little noisy/squeaky sounding.

Quiet -- Efficient -- Gets the Job Done!
This heater warms my office quickly and efficiently and is much quieter than other space heaters I've tried. My only complaint is that the dial thermostat is not as sensitive as it needs to be; I usually have to manually turn it on and off to maintain the desired temperature (once the room is warm enough). Minor complaint on an otherwise stellar product.

    Would buy it again.
Reasonably priced, easy to read and use controls. Gets hot in a hurry. I tried one other brand prior to this, and the Lasko unit is the better of the two.

Great "Companion Heater" for instant heat.
One of the best heaters I've had for my RV. It has a "Power On" light but it does not have a light showing the "Heat" is on. It is so quiet, which is great, but sometimes I have to go to the heater to feel the front to see if I left the heat on or off. Great for quick specified small area to warm up instantly while waiting for the furnace to warm RV. I keep mine by my computer desk and it is so good to be able to turn it off or on depending on whether I am chilled or not.

    Best heater
There are two heat functions and the fan function. It can be turned on occilate or positioned in one direction. It heats up our large bedroom super quick. If I had one very small complaint it would be that the red light on the heater stays on, even when its turned off. I plan on buying a couple more for the other rooms in our house.

    Loving these little heaters!
I read several reviews of this product and looked it up on Consumer's Reports as well. They heat well and are a great value, so far. Very simple operation. I use them to warm up the couch area when I'm watching a show, using the computer, or want to warm up the bathroom in the morning. They get very warm, and are sturdy. I have no idea whether or not they are economical. That is not really why I bought them. I just like to have a small area warm when I am sitting down and relaxing without heating up the whole house, which is then too warm when I am working or moving around. I bought 2, would certainly buy more if I needed them, and would give them as gifts. I have purchased 5-6 different brands of ceramic space heaters over the years in about the same price range. These are by far my favorites. I didn't notice any odd smell on start up. They are quiet. They oscillate well without wobbling. And, they are well balanced with the weight on the bottom, so I think they wouldn't tip over easily. I think they are a great buy at 25 dollars. I don't think I would let them run overnight while I was sleeping; just as I wouldn't let any heater like this run unattended. And, like any little space heater, in effect, you are using a toaster to heat your space. But, it makes my small spaces toasty, which is what I wanted. So far, I've not experienced them turning off on their own, as I've not tipped them over, and the surrounding air they are drawing in is quite cool. Bottom line is, if you buy them from WalMart and don't like them, you can just take them back. I bought mine online, picked up the same day (to get the best price), and have been very happy with the puchase.

    Love it!
I bought two of these one for me and one for my daughter and my two yrs old grandbaby (they live on thier own) to save on gas bill for furnace. Very happy with my purchase so is my daughter. When I come home from work its cold. Now I just turn on my Lasko and within an hour my midsize living room is at a comfortable level. At bedtime I take it with me to my bedroom put it on full speed and half an hour later put in on low temp and I sleep comfortably all night. No more waking up at 3:00 AM to turn on the heater to warm up the whole house. Will save a bundle in Gas bill. I bought this product based on Amazon reviews but didn't want to wait long or pay shipping charges so I ordered online from Walmart. Got it faster and saved on shipping charges and it cost the same as it did on Amazon. Very please with my Lasko as is my daughter. I may even buy another one down the road for my desk at work as it very quite also. Very good buy and very please with my heater so far.

    This will keep you toasty!
Our house was built in 1972 and all electric (the Edsel of home heating!) and you are left with a choice of freezing or watching your money just "burn" up trying to keep warm. The solution I found for the living room (watching TV, etc) was to put on the main heat and a heater like this for an hour and then turn off the main heat, keeping this one on. The temperature gets to 70-72 in the room and stays there. I first saw this heater at my step-daughter's house in the frozen tundra of Tehachapi, Ca, where it was used to heat the bedroom my wife and I were in. Worked great. We needed another heater for our house and bought this. Works like a charm. It's quiet and effective. The room is 15 x 20, and it takes about an hour to warm up, somewhat less if you give it a boost with the ceiling radiant heat (then turn that heat off). The heater is small, so it does not heat up the room immediately; but for my use it is great. And you can turn down the wattage (from 1500 to 850) to maintain the warmth. Especially for the price it is great.

Little Giant of a Room Heater
The 5307 Dimensions: 6.75" (L) x 5.90" (W) x 16.02" (H). Considering the unit's compact size, the heat output is astonishing on high at 1500 watt setting which I use to warm up the living area when I get in from work and the low setting which is 900 watts can maintain comfort once the room has been warmed for about 45 minutes on the high setting. The oscillation was hard to envision and now that I've used it for a couple of days I find this feature more effective than I expected and won't buy another room heater without this feature. The entire silver-gray part of the heater rotates left to right then right to left on the black base. You just press a single silver colored push button bar on top to activate and deactivate the oscillation feature. I see no advantage to not using the oscillation as it speeds rapid heat up of the room and seems to help in maintaining even temperature within the room on the low setting. The fan unit is fairly quiet compared to other portable heaters I've owned or used. I was considering buying one of those small electric fireplaces or stoves with the fake flame image but after much research I found they were all pretty noisy. compared to this unit So I settled upon the Lasko 5307 as the best value in a nearly silent yet highly rated heater. Since I'm going to only use it for 3 or 4 months out of the year I can stow it away when I don't need it unlike the much larger fireplaces which by the way have exactly the same heat output! No digital thermostat to break, no remote to lose and frankly the last thing I need is another remote to keep up with and buy batteries for every year. Why anyone needs a remote controlled room heater is frankly a mystery. This same heater is available with a digital thermostat and remote control This unit has a thermostat control that seems to be easy for me to set. I just crank it wide open until the room starts to feel warmer, then turn the thermostat slowly until the unit cycles off. Then I reduce the heat setting from hight to low and leave it alone the rest of the evening. There are two knobs. One is the thermostat control and the second is the master control. The master control settings are: "Off"-"Fan Only"-"Low Heat" which is about 900 watts-"High Heat" which is about 1500 watts. The fan only has one speed. When the thermostat cycles the unit off the fan and oscillation also ceases so it is using no electricity. The red pilot LED lamp is always red when the unit is plugged in whether the unit is turned on or off. I wanted a heater, not a thermometer and I didn't need a remote. I compared heat output, quietness of the fan, reputation of the company, length of warranty and read reviews everywhere. I think the Lasko 5307 is a bargain in a small heater. While the box says "MEDIUM ROOM" it probably is better suited to areas no larger than 12 x 12 unless you want it running constantly. It costs me less than 10 cents to run this heater on high for a full hour and about 6 center per hour on low. The cord is longer than I expected so you can put it up to about 10 feet from an outlet. When new there is an odor when the ceramic element heats up. It takes a while for this to stop. But in a couple of days it should be gone. In warmer weather this unit can also be used as a personal fan as well thanks to the fan only setting. This is a quality basic heater with a 3 year warranty and I bought the Wal-Mart extended warranty for $3 so I'm actually looking forward to using one of these for at least the next 4 years and saving a bundle on my heating bill as I lower the thermostat to 58 and use this to heat up my living area when I need to. I have done the math and figure to save at least $140 per heating season in fuel costs this way. Efficient little heaters can really save you a bundle as you heat up just the area you need heated up. This heater is also safe to use around pets and children. I was a firefighter and I'm very safety conscious. I looked for a UL seal on a room heater and I can't find one! I shopped Honeywell, Sunbeam, Bionaire and even Edenpure. This heater though appears to me to be very well made and based on my ownership of a wonderful Lasko fan I decided to go with Lasko again. I love my little giant of a heater. Glad I didn't get one fancier or larger myself. This heater is a solid value!

    Great product
I have had this heater for over two years and have had no problems , it warms my small duplex and uses very little electricity for the warmth. No sense in paying higher on gas or electric bills , when this does the trick. I have about a 800 square foot 2 bedroom duplex and I've had to turn it down on low after the house was warm from the heater . Yes I sure do recommend this ceramic oscillating heater !
