Peace of mind - Worth every penny
When our English Setter first escaped and was gone for 3 hours several years ago, we purchased a Whistle and have been diligent about ensuring he is always wearing it (we are on our second one). He doesn't escape often, but has done so twice this week! We could track him, head in the right direction and both times were able to retrieve him safely within 15 minutes. It definitely gives us peace of mind and did not disappoint when we needed to find him.

Horrible!!! Don't buy
We have been with whistle for 4 years. Up until this year we were really happy with them. The device itself is not great quality, but they have always replaced it when something broke or went wrong.
A few weeks ago it just stopped working on WiFi and the battery dies quickly when not on WiFi. On Labor Day we called, prepared to buy a new one, but they said they would send a replacement. We could have bought it on sale, and I expressed this to their representative. They told me they would replace it. A few days later I didn't get anything in my email so I called them. They told me they weren't going to replace it and I had to buy a new one….. they offered me 20% off, but it was still more then it was on Labor Day. I spent more time troubleshooting, and on hold than I should have, just to find out it needed to be replaced.
The whistle 2 was replaced once, but parts had to be replaced monthly. The Explore was replaced 3 times because the clip on the back kept breaking. One of them had water damage, and it was supposed to be water proof. The quality is poor. Customer service was poor…. The service was fine, until it broke.

I did not think I would have need for this information, but I have found it helpful. The battery life is great. I was prepared to recharge the battery every night, but it has been seven days since the last charge and the battery is only at 72%. My dogs love to wrestle and the product withstands this activity and stays securely fastened to her collar. The one time we left the home perimeter, I was alerted to Emme's location. But the change to the size of collar attachment made it much harder for her to wear with her martingale collars. I used to be able to use a 1" piece of material sewn onto the collar but now it's too wide for the new Whistle. It's attached with the velcro attachment but not as tightly as I'd like. Luckily the woman who makes my martingale collars can add a thinner strap so I'll be able to attach the Whistle more securely with her next collar. The app is very easy to use and I like getting notifications by text and email.Susan A.

It does what it's supposed to, telling us where our dog is, if he runs away. Which occasionally happens. Also the new GO has a much better battery life than our old one. BUT that being said. We don't have the strongest Wi-Fi signal and it seems to run down the battery faster than a strong connection. Also, our dog lays quite a bit under the deck or on our front porch under a chair and I get frequent messages that he is 500ft from the house. When he is not. It is a bit annoying. That being said, I recommend the Whistle to all my friends that have „runners“. Great product!Nicole S.
