Lousy company
Bought similar LG a/c. Died just after warranty. Discontinued. Repair people said don't buy LG products. Asked LG chat if they sell another that's compatible with previous exhaust/panels. They just told me what's available. Then, LG contacted me by text. Had to explain all again. LG said they would get back, but didn't. Then, I wrote LG president at LG website. No reply, despite saying they would. So, I guess my only recourse now is to submit as many bad reviews as possible about LG products.

    Does Not Work With Alarm
    I bought this for my Man Cave that has several TV's and the room can get warm even with central A/C. The problem with the A/C Unit is the engineers or designers did not take into consideration those that have alarm systems with window contacts. When you place the insert for the exhaust duct in the window, the alarm window contacts that are designed for being able to open the window (vent) and still set the alarm are not in line so the alarm system can't be activated. I could bypass that window but did not want to do that since that was now the weakest point in the house with a cheap piece of plastic being in the window. I called LG and they did not have a solution, so I returned the item.

    Have used it for one month and works great. Made our living room vert comfortable in warm and cooler weather.

    This unit cools great. It is just so loud it sounds like it's rattling apart. Do not put in the room with anything you want to hear. It will freeze you out, the thermostat is placed too close to the exhaust so the unit doesn't realize that you're not supposed to turn blue with the temperature set on 80 degrees.
