I bought this model over 5 years ago for one of my rooms. It's used regularly. It's still going strong! So I'm buying another for a different room!

Hisense durability

Pros: Compact and portable so can be used in many different spaces as long as you are near a window for outlet (wheels are a nice touch, too). Easily cools my 11x13 bedroom even on the low AC setting.  The remote is nice to have when you don't want to have to get up to change settings. It also has a dimmer switch to turn off the lights on the unit at night so it doesn't bother you.  I also like the fact you don't have to worry about emptying any water pans or trays with this unit. 

Cons: Directions/instructions aren't the clearest, so take your time when putting together or installing.  The way the hose outlet is made, you can't have it flush on one side, so you may have to flip it-keep that in mind.   I still had it unboxed and installed in less then an hour, though. It's a little louder then a window unit, but you get used to the sound after a while--but I expected a portable unit to be louder then a window.

Great Value If You Need A Portable AC Unit

Don't buy this. It says it doesn't need drained/emptied under normal use but shuts off 3 times every night because the tiny water tank is full. Also the thermostat says 61 so the whole thing shuts off when the actual room temp is over 70. Returning this ASAP. Trash.

Garbage

I dont even know if it will work. It arrived in torn up packaging and was upside down. Anyone who buys anything with a compressor knows it should never be upside down. Its now upright and I will try it in several hours after its been sitting upright for at least four hours. Update to follow.

I would have given this product 5 stars but it came with the wrong instruction manual, so it was pretty useless. Other than that the setup was easy once I googled and found the right manual.

Pleased with Portable AC

Great unit for the money. It does cut on and off automatically when the temperature is reached or you can leave the fan running, for people wanting to know.  Cools the room down quickly and has a metal grate for the intake that others don't have for some reason.

It's a refurbished model, makes me nervous but Wal-Mart offers the product care plan so that is reassuring.  It's an incredible unit!  Can't use a window unit in my apartment.   This unit cooled my room from 76 degrees to 67.  It so quiet!   It's improved my sleep quality here in the desert and best of all, it came with all required modifications for my window to vent the hose.   
I can't even think of a con; perhaps that those gets warm venting the hot air.  I wrapped mine in foil and it solved the issue.   I'll buy another after this stops working, if it does.

BEST AC unit I've owned

My a.c. in the house went out for a week, it was 90degrees everyday that week. Purchased this unit as a refurbished model and it did wonders. It isn't to loud like I've seen online and I was expecting to have to drain it due to the humidity in the house caused by leaving windows and the door open for hours each day and night. But so far I only needed to drain it once a week after purchasing. The only design flaw I can see would be the units exhaust port being located on the bottom instead of midway or up top like high end units I've seen. However the performance is better than expected. Highly recommend this brand.

Was needed and delivered

So i was a little worried bc of the bad reviews. My son has to always be cool bc the medication he takes makes him unable to sweat. I was very surprised by this air conditioner. After only a few minutes on his bedroom went from 82 degrees to 62 degrees. He stays cool at night and wakes up happy. Im very happy with this and will be buying another one for my living room as well. Also his room is farely large about 30×30 and this does a wonderful job keeping it cool.
