Last week I had to borrow from an neighbor, and his was 25 yrs old
Last week I had to borrow from an neighbor, and his was 25 yrs old. So I decided to get one of my own. I added a picture of me holding the multimeter so you see the size in a persons (small) hand. I like that it came with a thermocouple, I can use this to calibrate the temperature in my oven (which is quite far off) and my refrigerator and freezer. These appliances don't really have the most accurate thermostats. I have had multimeters at work in the past and this one has all the same measurement capabilities. My needs are modest, continuity and low voltage (and a thermocouple). Very happy with my purchase.

Don't Buy This Multimeter
It did not have clips as shown in the ad - just pointers. The instructions are poor at best - there is a connector that I have no way how to use. And it doesn't appear to have a continuity checker. Don't waste your money.

Nice unit, all the bells and whistles
I'm just a DIY'er and this works for the minimal purposes I need it for. I like the backlit and the stand. As others have stated, the instructions are printed in very small type and this unit is like others in that you have to undo a screw in order to remove the batteries so that's a bit of a hassle, otherwise it's a great product at a great price.

Picked this up with a combined $9 in coupons so it made it very affordable (~$16)
Picked this up with a combined $9 in coupons so it made it very affordable (~$16). Quality is really nice. I like that it has both auto and manual ranging. The leads that it comes with seem to be pretty good quality and the set includes a thermocouple for temperature measurement. The backlight is very bright and the continuity buzzer is loud too. The manual that is included is pretty thin so if you don't know how to use a meter you might need to watch some youtube videos to figure out how to use it.

I've had the AstroAI DT132A multimeter for just a few of days so far and can report some impressions
I've had the AstroAI DT132A multimeter for just a few of days so far and can report some impressions.First, it is astonishing the features packed into this DMM: auto/manual ranging, min/max, relative measurement, hold function, temperature, true RMS and 4000 counts. All for $23. We owe all that to the single DreamTech DMM chip inside. The same chip is used for many brands of meters. I have not opened the case but from viewing a teardown video, the innards are sparse indeed with few other components but it does look to have some input protection components. For my use the 4000 count display is more than adequate. In many years of electronic work only a few times have I needed more than the four digits of precision that this meter provides. The single sheet manual with microscopic font size is adequate but barely. Note that the 145x70x35mm dimensions it gives for the meter are incorrect. If you're shopping for a case, the actual dimensions are: 155x75x35mm.Many, if not most, multimeters have separate banana jacks for current measurement vs. the voltage, capacitance, etc. combo input jack. This meter does have a separate input jack for the 10A current measurement but it uses the combo input jack for uA and mA current ranges. The good: convenient to not have to unplug and re-plug for a current measurement. The bad: if the probes are connected to measure a voltage, say with alligator clips, and you even momentarily switch the rotary switch to the uA or mA setting IT COULD FRY THE METER. At best it would blow the 500mA fuse, at worst it could burn the circuit board. The instruction sheet does state:THE MANUAL ROTARY SWITCH SHOULD BE PLACED IN THE CORRECT POSITION BEFORE MEASUREMENTAND SHOULD NOT BE MOVED DURING MEASUREMENT TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE METER.Some reviewers have complained about the beeping at every setting change. I like it because some SELECT button settings don't apply to some rotary switch positions so it will not beep for those. The beep provides some feedback that the setting will be applied. It does have the red outer moulding of soft-ish plastic, but it's only 0.1" thick so it will provide only minimal protection in a drop. The kick stand is flimsy and easily bendable. One surprise is that it came with the three AAA batteries installed--not just placed in the box.As other reviewers have stated, the backlight stays on for only 15 seconds then the button must be long-pressed to re-light. If you need to use the meter in low-light environment you'll get tired of that. If there is some cryptic button sequence that changes that timing, I'd like to hear about it.Overall, it's a remarkable feature-rich meter at a bargain price but with flimsy construction. I'll subtract one star for the thin rubber overmould and backlight timing.

Very nice meter, especially for the price
Very nice meter, especially for the price. One thing to note though, it takes 3 AAA cells NOT one 9 volt as says. I'm just fine with this though. Also, the manual says to access the battery, to remove the screws (plural) from the back panel. That takes the whole thing apart. Only the center screw has to be removed. Overall, very happy.

Bought this multimeter to trouble shoot my hot tub, but the day it arrived two other items needed its use
Bought this multimeter to trouble shoot my hot tub, but the day it arrived two other items needed its use. I had to check for continuity on the electrical system of a jet ski and found the culprit on the second wire/connector I checked = fixed and on the water. Then I had to check my Raspberry Pi power supply, but it turned out to be the cord. So awesome that you can do so much with this inexpensive multimeter.

This is a great budget multimeter
This is a great budget multimeter. I compared it to my other budget multimeter (Craftsman), and they both read very close to each other, so I assume it is reasonably accurate. My only real complaint is it's a little slow to read, especially when doing a continuity test with the audible beep. My Craftsman one beeps instantly as soon as there is contact, whereas this one has a half second delay or so. It's not a super big deal, but even that much of a delay makes it a little annoying to use when you're trying to test things like pressing a button or flipping a switch where you expect immediate feedback.Besides that, I really like this multimeter. The auto ranging is a nice feature I didn't have on my Craftsman one.

I damage my previous multimeter because I left the batteries inside and it melted everything
I damage my previous multimeter because I left the batteries inside and it melted everything. I tried to clean it but it was a mess and it never turned on again.I spent some time to look for a good multimeter with RMS that is not expensive as Fluke. This one was recommended by and had many good reviews so I bought it.I’ll try to use the accessories of my old multimeter in this new one so then I’ll have more probes.
