4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/03/2021Keeps the space coolHonestly it's a good unit. My only qualm is the case on left side of the machine looks forced on. With plastic defects visible on the outside of the case. It's abit noisy. It has what I hear as a chatter to it while running. It was a while before I could have it installed. To exchange and return period ended.WMichael1893

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/03/2020Product & deliverySolid A/C; 14,000 BTU delivered. Biggest disappointment : I paid for a remote that does not work from day 1. Obviously, i can manually operate but why provide a remote that is sub par? Did not bother to call. Too much hassle. I would have given a 5 but i feel cheated and the delivered box was practically in pieces .cee814riley

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/09/2020Love this Portable ACThis is our very first AC ever considering that we live in the SF Bay Area, there really isn't a huge need for AC since we typically have an ocean breeze. I did purchase one a few years back from Costco, but that unit was so loud that we didn't even use it and returned it as soon as it was delivered. In any event, each year that we experience a heat wave of sorts, I always regret not getting an AC unit. With the recent fires which negatively impacted our air quality and the heat waves this year , I decided to take a plunge and researched thoroughly and decided on Whynter. The set up seemed easy enough. While it doesn't cool my entire house, it does keep a room cool. I'm so glad that I purchased it because we experienced a weltering heat wave on Labor Day weekend and I turned on the AC. I never left my room, in fact, I had my daughter staying in the room since that was the coolest place to escape the hot temperatures in the house. I did catch it on sale so definitely worth the money! I would absolutely recommend this unit. However, keep in mind that I just used it about 3 times and so far so good. The only negative thing is the fact that the remote that came with the unit didn't work. So, I sent Whynter an email and they will be shipping me a new one. That's relatively minor in my mind. I just hope that we will be able to use it for years to come. Fingers crossed!CAMOMOFTHREE

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/31/2020Great Portable Air-conditioner!I love it, because it keeps my Living Room, Dining Room, and Hallway very cold! My combined Room Size is approximately 600 square feet . It was easy to assemble -and it came with a drainage hose - even though all of it was evaporating outside thru the external window venting system.Rose

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/29/2020usage not that long in durationThis monstrous ac is heavy as heck but is a heat busting workhorse. I have no clue as to how long it will last. the other portable acs we bought lasted 3-4 years. I have been running this one since the beginning of the summer and it still does the job 2/3 of the way through. The second one like this we bought had a crust on the side of it. The sliding flat paneled window vent, the part that holds the hose to the window, was limited in range but did work for us. The vent hose connects to two hard plastic couplers in a very poor fashion. It just snaps on. In other words, both the window coupler and ac coupler have a loose seal compared to other portable acs I have had. Even though there's leakage, it still does the job well. I would buy it again.Robert

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/26/2019Quiet, Cools a room efficientlyBought for an exceedingly hot upstairs bedroom when overnight guests were expected. It did the job quite nicely. The room is 10x15 and it cooled down significantly in a few hours. The guests noted that it was fairly quiet and more like white noise than annoying. It was easy to set up and easy to regulate. The window install was easy enough but some sort of insulating rubber foam strips would be welcome to better seal the outside vent. The unit does move, but is heavy so I find moving it on thick carpet takes a little effort. Overall I am glad we bought it.Beach Reader

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/11/2019To Me It's The Cadillac of Portable A/C'sYesterday, here in the US Poconos, it was humid in my home. So instead of suffering I took the cover off my new portable A/C unit , that I thought I wouldn't need any longer this year, and was reminded of how nice this thing is. I upgraded to this 14K BTU unit this season. It does a great job, even with my sky chalet type ceiling. I loved how the listing showed the actual BTU's as opposed to the listed BTU's. I love how the vent swings up and down slowly to circulate the air. I love how quiet it is. I love how the hose is assembled without a screwdriver. and stays put in the back when you need to adjust the unit. I love the extension on the window piece that actually covers my entire vertical window opening. (The window opens horizontally so the opening is longer.) Plus it's not very noisy. I also appreciate this review request was just now sent to me, giving me time to use it and to get to know the pros and cons. Not 2 weeks after I got it where everything is always peachy.PA Ray

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/30/2019You'r cooling me off !We have been using this unit for about three weeks now and it works well. I really like the vent hose connections and the ease with which they attach to the window spacer. This was the hottest July on record in southern New England and this A/C unit was a part of how we got through the heat waves. Thanksrazee

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/21/2019Works greatI bought this for my daughter's college apartment. Set up was very easy. I had to trim one of the panels. I was able to trim it easily using tin snips. The only problem I encountered was that the exhaust tube is not long enough. My daughter's apartment is partially below ground so the windows are high up. I had to elevate the unit using 2 milk crates. There should be an option for a longer hose or a hose extender.Margaret
