One more exceptionally good product.
This is my second Seagate backup drive. My first, 2 gigs, Actually ran out of storage room. I removed it, stored it away, and replaced it with the 5 gig drive. I suspect this drive will outlive me.

Not happy with my Seagate 5T backup
Registration was painful. It is very user unfriendly. Tech support is difficult to work with. Can hardly speak to a live person.

    Not good
The item was not as described. It did not do what it said it would do which is to automatically download each day. It was also very difficult to hook up to the computer. Not a good fit

Bought 5TB but capacity is only 447GB!
This is the first time Walmart disappointed me. Tried going to store because the app says it is in stock. When I get there, the associate says zero inventory. It’s weird coz I tried ordering and pick up the same day and got it. I didn’t notice that the seal was already cut but still I hope everything will be ok. When I plugged it in, an error keeps on appearing. I looked at the properties and the capacity is only 447Gb. I paid for 120 bucks for 5TB and I will receive a 447Gb. The packaging and the label in it shows 5TB in it. It’s weird! Will be returning!

    SeaGate and Walmart Vert impressed.
4TB HDD under $100, way to go! SeaGate and Walmart. This is a Plug-n-Go solution from SeaGate. If your buying for your mac I would suggest using Disk-Doctor and formatting it for MAC OS Journaled" rather than leaving it as Fat 32 MS Dos. I purchased from Walmart and had it shipped. It arrived virtually the next day. Vert impressed with Walmart.

fast and delivery with a great product
they delivered it in record time. safe and sound. I've already downloaded the movies and documents from 3 older computers. Taking up less than 7% of the external hard drive. it's compact and looks amazing.

    It's a harddrive. Don't overthink it.
It's a 4TB external drive. There's not much to say. Negative reviews are true. Positive reviews are true. Any manufacturer has duds. Any have quality units. Seagate just happens to have way more quality units than duds. I use computers for a living. I've gone through many drives, HDD and SSD. They've all had problems sometimes and other times haven't. I trust Seagate. The pricepoint is right, so is the space. Speaking of space. No, you will not have 4 terabytes free. It is a 4 terabyte drive though. There's something called a "file system". It's a system of information... think of indexes and such, that point to where files are on the drive. In some file systems it may also contain information on what kind of files they are, which users own them, etc. The space that is mysteriously not there, is there. It is being used by the file system along with another thing called a partition table. Ignore any review on any drive complaining about missing space. The bigger the drive, the more "missing space" there will be. Anyway, I got this for a PS5. It's working fine. Transferring an average of 500gb of files in about 80-90 minutes via USB 3.0 either way. Had to up it from a 2TB drive which is going to another console.

A fine little portable backup unit.
It works fine. A little smaller and slower than I expected, but otherwise effective. Easy to load and exit use.

I've had it with Seagate premature drive failures
Bought this about a month ago to use for backups. Lasted only two weeks then started throwing read and access errors, preventing Win 10 backup from working properly, and really messing with Win Explorer. I'm now 2 for 2 in the last 5 years of Seagate drives that fail within a few months. I'm done with Seagate for good; going back to either WD, Samsung, or possibly external Crucial SSD from now on.

    Perfect Back Up Solution
I have used a Seagate external drive as my back up for years. This is nice and still so easy to use. It comes with a few bells and whistles, but if you choose, the basic drag and drop still works fine. I am so pleased with this item and the brand.

    Quiet, reliable, performance
I own multiple of these and they are GREAT! They are totally silent, reliable, fast, and have tons of space. I will never use another type of external HD.

    Works great but be aware
The unit works as described however I have to unplug it and replug it in at modem startup or shutdown booting of modem because it does not recognize it and will not launch the startup program correctly but not a big deal either.

    looking to back up computer
easy to hook up; cord needs to be longer. takes some time to figure how to set what you want to back up. you have to down load toolkit to make it work not preloaded. wish setup was more like Microsoft style folders, backed up entire computer in half a day. if it really works good deal. like to know if i get new computer can i load info from Seagate to new computer to have my known info and setup .

    Bad Partition / Corrupted Device
I've never had a problem with portable hard drives until this one arrived on my doorstep. I got it out of the box and connected it to the USB like I did with all the others except this one wasn't recognized by the computer. It didn't show up at all on the disk management scan. It was visible in the device manager under Disk drives, but any attempt to click on it froze the screen. This happened several times and I rebooted accordingly. After checking the Seagate website for bug fixes, I called support. Long story short, not even the support person could do anything. She recommended I return the drive for an exchange. Riiiight.
