Clean prints
So far, this printer has impressed me. The speed and quality are great. It has all the functions I need, and you can even connect directly to it's built-in WiFi from your phone. I didn't read the instructions for setup at first, but after searching where to install the the ink, I finally gave in. PS. It's in the front, above where the paper prints out. I haven't decided if I want to do the instant ink or not. There appears to be a free plan, which would probably work for us. We print rather infrequently.

Don't waste your time buying
Bought this printer in hopes of just getting something small to print school work off. Barely ever connects. Will print out the paper 4 days later. Works when you feel like it. Every time you try to print it says printer is idle, unavailable, or not connected even though it is on and connected to WiFi. Works fine if you scan something to print. But the Bluetooth aspect is horrible. I guess I get what I paid for.

    Good printer, poor notifications
The printer is pretty good. However, it doesn't communicate well at all. It doesn't alert me to ink being low (as my previous Epson did); if it doesn't print for some reason, I cannot tell what's wrong. The display for paper being out or any other fault is too small to see clearly and if anything lights up, I haven't seen it. I wouldn't buy it again, that's for sure!

    Don't buy
This printer says 4155 desk jet plus but it registers on your phone as 4100 desk jet plus. Every time I have to print I have to unplug the printer and plug it back in. For some reason it won't connect to my devices unless I do that . This printer also doesn't let you print on both sides. I would not recommend this! Not worth your money.

Very pleased with my new printer!
My new printer is working great. Very clear and fast printing. I like being able to send directly from my phone. Also I'm using the instant ink program and it is wonderful to not have to know exactly how much I have left and it reorders when it needs ink. Perfect!

Good, but not exceptional, quality printer
The HP DeskJet Plus 4152 All-in-One Printer is a good, but not exceptional, quality printer. The printer does not come with a user's manual and no reference is made to where to obtain one. Only after searching through HP's website was I able to find the manual, which is quite extensive. However, the existence of the manual should have been publicized. The set-up of the printer is fairly easy, using either the built-in USB port or a Wifi connection. The printer has various options for printing and copying from mobile devices, from the HP Smart app that can be installed, and from the computer where the document is located. The quality of the printing and copying is very good, even when the former is done with draft quality. The standard black ink cartridge for the printer lasts as long as it was advertised, but, unlike the cartridges for other (non-HP) printers that I have used, I was disappointed that it did not last longer given that almost all of my printing was done with draft quality. Consequently, the ink cartridges seem inferior. Given that the cumulative cost of ink cartridges soon exceeds the cost of the printer, this might make this printer less cost-effective in the long run than other printers. An important advantage of this printer (at least compared to my prior printer) is that it can print using only black ink, without even having a color ink cartridge installed. Thus, if you do not intend to use color ink, there is no need to buy such a cartridge. In comparison, while my prior printer could print using only black ink, it required having usable color ink cartridges installed even if they were not used, and apparently the ink in the latter would evaporate after several months, necessitating buying several color cartridges a year that I did not even use -- wasting more money than the printer even cost. One minor irritation with the printer results from its printing starting with the document's last page, and then proceeding backwards through the document. If you are printing a document using both sides of the paper, as I often do, and which has an odd, rather than even, number of pages, the blank side of the one page with printing on only one side will occur after the first page of the printed document (rather than at the very end of the document, if the printing had started with the document's first page). To avoid this one must print the last page of the document separately, and then print out the rest of the document using both sides of the paper. Unfortunately, that leaves the rest of the printed pages in the opposite order that they should be, so they have to be placed in the correct order manually. The automatic document feeder for copying makes copying documents easier. The printing input tray and copying auto-feeder work smoothly, except that infrequently more than one sheet from the input tray is fed into the printing or copying at a time, resulting in a blank sheet of paper in the resulting printed or copied document. The printer's scanner works very well, with four settings up to a 1200 dpi resolution, the latter of which should be more than enough for any purpose, particularly because the resulting file size is so large that not much can be done with the file. Even at the printer's 300 dpi resolution, the resulting scan is of noticeably better quality than a 300 dpi resolution scan with my prior printer.

Nice low budget printer with expensive ink
This printer is nice, mainly at the price-point. I printed several pages on regular 20lb stock and the text was fine. I even printed a few photos (one is attached in this review), but I quickly realized the included ink cartridges were 2/3 depleted, so I signed up for the $2.99 per month delivery ink that HP calls "instant ink". The $2.99 gets you 50 pages of printing, no matter how much ink you use. The printer then lets HP know you're running low on ink and more is delivered to your door. If you go over your allotment, there are additional charges. Setup was relatively easy, but the app is VERY INTRUSIVE on your smartphone and your computer. It's quite creepy knowing your printer is checking out your ink supply and then ordering more for you when needed. Almost like someone looking over your shoulder all the time. So my take on Instant Ink is not that great, although the pricing of this feature is reasonable, especially when compared to buying the cartridges outright. And of course, HP has your credit card on file from the second you sign-up for the service. However, the cost of ink cartridges from HP, as usual, is sky-high for what you get. They are rated for just 200 pages, but you should realize that is based on a small percentage of coverage. Printing photos would use up the ink very quickly. There are 2 ink cartridges. One black - One tri-color. I never like this setup because you aren't going to use each of the 3 colors evenly, which means there is wasted ink going in the trash that you paid for. There are now other options out there that let you refill your own cartridges when needed. Yes, the printer costs more, but the ink is very reasonable. The small footprint of this printer is nice, until you have to use it. Then the input for paper needs to be opened in the back and the output tray with a long support shelf comes out in front. This should be considered when placing the printer in your home. I have no complaints with the print quality. A small amount of paper curl, which occurs with most wet ink printers when using standard "copy paper". I just can't see signing up for the ink delivery service, as it's hard to gauge how many pages you are going to print each month. Certainly, many homes will print double or triple at Christmas time alone. The smartphone app is way over-engineered and again, quite intrusive on your privacy.

    Neat and handy printer.
It arrived in good condition and no damaged in the box or product. The printer itself is designed beautifully, I particularly love the white color as it complements our office room. The app is easy to download on the phone but I did had a hard time connecting the printer to the WiFi using my phone so I ended up using my laptop instead and it was a breeze. Once connected in the laptop, it automatically connects to my phone too. The printer is a little slow to print but it was understandable. I love how easy to print things from my phone! Very handy for me indeed. The only thing that made me frustrated is how to redeem the 2-month free ink. I had to spent almost 2 hours of research to finally be able to redeem it. Overall, I think this printer is a nice addition to my WFH days.

    App required, automatic reorder
It is a nice printer, not as large as others I have had. There are two things that I don't like about this though. One is that this printer requires the HP Smart App for set up. It is found in Google Play and it downloads quickly. I would prefer not to have to download an app to use it. I wish that it had the option, not the requirement. Instructions are available from the app for set up. The other thing I didn't like is the automatic reorder. For me, an everyday user, this feature is something that i don't need since i dn't use the printer for business purposes. For those though with a business this probably a great bonus feature in that it knows when to order and with set up will reorder for you so that you have your ink about the time the cartridge runs out. Plus there is a small savings that may be available for doing that. Automatic billing by a smart feature is something you have to decide upon. I like that it is smaller than the monsters of the past. HP notes that it recycles. It offers automatic shipment and billing of ink, a smart feature. But it does require the download of the HP Smart App for use. All in all I would say this is a better option for a printer than the monsters of the past with the exception of the required app download. That is why I gave it four stars rather than five.

    Perfect companion
I received the Deskjet plus 4152 from Spark Reviewer to use and review. This is a great All-In-One printer, scanner, copier and fax machine. It is easy to setup, just plug into your computer USB and connect to your wi-fi and you are all set. The LCD screen is easy to reading easy to see the buttons. I use mine to print coupons, scan documents and copy paperwork that I need to send off. The DeskJet is not bulky and is easy to fit into your home space.

    Difficult to setup on network
Upon receiving the HP Deskjet Plus 4152 I was impressed with how small it is for all the features it has.(17x13×8"). The look is sleek and modern and would look nice in any office. When unpacking for the first time, be aware that there is blue protective tape in many places, even inside the printer so you have to look in every opening. I appreciate the care in packaging to ensure it arrived safely but this was time consuming to remove. My husband, who is one of those geeky guys everyone calls to fix their computer related issues, took over from there to set the printer up on our wireless network. This is where my impression of the printer went downhill. No matter what he did, the printer would not finalize the setup using the android app (which was said to be required). He ended up calling HP tech support and was on the phone with them for nearly an hour. Finally he was able to make it work by temporarily connecting it via USB, which was not included. I think it would be nearly impossible for the average person to do. But, once it was connected to our wireless network, even the Linux Ubuntu computers detected it automatically and asked if we wanted to set up the new device. Once connected we tested it out and found the paper loading tray to be awkward to use. There is not a feeling that tells you the paper is in correctly and if you push a little you actually start to feed the paper into the machine which is not right. The plastic paper guide is not easily seen/accessible when standing in front of the printer. Despite those issues, once we got it to work we liked the quality of the prints and the quietness of its operation. I would not recommend this printer though, based on the tech issues when we have experienced much easier ones in the past.

    Perfect Printer
This printer is lightweight and the right size for any office. Very compact and clean looking. The white color is a welcome color from the usual black. After downloading HP app, I had no trouble installing the printer. Very concise instructions. The printer has good quality printing and is quieter than my previous printer. I especially like that I can print from my IPad now. I recommend it for anyone looking for smart functionality and Print quality.

For casual use and scanning, awesome.
First off, I'm using this printer at a business. So it gets to see regular, daily use. For a quick, overall review? It's been perfectly up to the task. Starting off with installation. There isn't a USB cable in the box (naughty). They assume you'll use Wi-Fi. I supplied my own. The directions tell you to download an app either on your smartphone or on your PC, I chose to plug the USB cable into the Windows 10 computer and let it sort it out. It did just fine, then it popped up with “app available”. Downloaded that, and we're off to the races. And speaking of the PC app, it deserves a special mention. Printer status and ink status right on the front panel, and a bunch of colored buttons for any function you want to do. They put some effort into this app, people at any skill level should feel comfortable using all this printer's functions. They made it easy. Props for that. For an affordable printer, I have no complaints on performance. I primarily wanted a scanner at my desk so I don't have to bring all my documents to another room. I noticed some complaining about the quality, but they must have had their settings wrong. Even using medium compression and half the maximum DPI, I mean, look at the picture I attached. One of those is a copy. Sure there's slight color differences if you stick your nose up to it, but even that tiny text is perfectly legible. Considering the affordability of this printer? That quality is insane. And the scanner is twice as fast as our old flatbed we're used to here. But even better? If you've got a stack of papers, you can set a pile in the top feeder and it'll just scan them all! I'm used to a flatbed scanner so this is a colossal time saver! In short, I like the scanner. A lot. Print quality is perfect for the documents and simple graphics I print, I included a picture of one. It's as crisp as can be. Not much to comment on there. HP printers generally have good print quality, and this one is no different. The Instant Ink program is a decent value considering the cost of ink cartridges, but I will say if you're looking at that top tier 300 page/month program, you may want to pony up for an HP Smart Tank printer instead. Yeah, they're more expensive, but if you're going through that much ink, the smart tank is going to be far more economical for you in the long run. But if you're a casual printer interested in scanning in photographs or documents to PDF, then this is a great choice. It's going to take up a permanent residence on the corner of my desk. I like it.

    Connection nightmare
I was so looking forward to reviewing this HP 4152. I even watched a YouTube video from HP on how to set up and use this new printer. I downloaded the HP Smart app to my iPhone. I was ready. I unboxed the unit and got it ready to set up. I open my iPhone HP smart app and got connected. The Printer connected to my wireless network but the phone couldn't see it. I went into my computer and my computer cannot see the printer either. I tried downloading the software using my computer and that didn't work. I tried entering the printers IP address into the computers software. That didn't work I finally broke down and just used a USB cable to connect the printer to my computer. I then made the printer my default printer and Downloaded the entire HP suite for this printer. Finally, my computer saw the printer and I was able to print the alignment page. Even printing the alignment page was ridiculous. The printers mechanism just seemed slow and clunky. I've owned two or three HP all in one machines in the past. I switch to Kodak and I never look back until now. Thank you HP for reminding me why I left. Your machines really are not engineered all that well and the software interface never seems to work correctly. The copy print and scan app seem to work fine but your software completely takes over the computer. It's bloatware similar to Adobe. Sorry for such harsh comments but I'm told to be completely honest. I do not recommend this printer copier scanner all in one machine, not even for free or to receive as a gift.
