Works for now
Smaller then thought it would be...we thought the dimensions were for the actual sand portion not including trim and legs of turtle part. Overall it works for us at the moment but not big enough for two toddlers to sit in at once...only works if both on the outside which my kid does not like doing. The lid is nice to have but we do have to weigh it down when it is very windy or it blows off.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/03/2022Little Tykes Turtle Sand BoxWe bought this for our grandson and he loves it. We bought 4 bags of playsand to put in it which seems to be about the right amount. All he wants to do now when he comes over is play in his turtle sand box.Ken

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/23/2022Very durableWe have 4 children who enjoyed their Turtle sandbox for years. When we moved we gave it to a neighbor who was happy to have it. The cover kept the sand clean and dry. We recently purchased a new one for our grandchild. We're sure there will be many happy memories made playing in the sand.Sherry

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/12/2021Fun in the Sand! Our 2 year old loved it! The cover keeps the sand protected and it is solid! It was perfect for us but I wish it were a little bigger so 2 toddlers could use it comfortably.Jo

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/09/2021Liked it so much, we bought a second one!We ordered this for our 3 year old grandson. He adores his "turtle". When we took it out of the box (it was raining) he made a lounge out of it. He loves it so we bought a second one to use as a sand box in the backyard. The price is fantastic and the quality is excellent!Valerie

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/31/2021Great but would like a little more security in lidThe lid comes off a little too easily. I have it under some cedar trees and when the lid is off stuff from the tree gets in. That's the best place to put it in the yard because the grass already sucks there. I like that my toddler can take the lid off and start playing but I don't want it to fly in these Dakota winds.ERyan

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/03/2021Sand TurtleThe sand in the turtle can get Very hot sitting in the sun on a sunny day so be careful and feel the sand before letting your little ones play. I bought this for my cat who likes to take a 'sand bath' so I love that it has a cover to protect the sand when not in use. The grand kid likes the sandbox too. I've used the shipping box as a baseM

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/30/2019My 3 year old loves it!So i was skeptical about the price but my 3 year old son loves it. He is in there non stop playing having a blast. I used 3 50 pound bags of play sand from homedepot, spent $15.25 on them but totally worth it since he is happy. My opinion it seems small but big enough for him.Alexandra

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/15/2016Perfect!!!I am satisfied all the way around. It came fast and it is very lightweight (without sand of course). So anybody can lift this and best of all it is small enough to fit almost anywhere but big enough for kids to have fun. For the price you cant beat it. Id recommend this to anyone.LeoS

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/12/2014For the little sand taste-testers in your lifeMy mother purchased this sandbox for my 17-month-old daughter and had it shipped to us. It arrived in two days, and we went out that afternoon and picked up 5 bags of sand for it (which we only put 4 in initially since we expect some will end up outside of the turtle). Our little ham LOVES it. Yes, as others have mentioned, the lid is pretty thin, but I find that it makes it much easier for her to lift and remove it on her own when she wants to play in the sand while we're out doing yard work, and we've had no issues with the strong coastal winds of Oregon blowing it off so far. The little turtle feet are the perfect spot for Baby's precious bum to rest upon while she shovels sand over her feet (and into her mouth). My sister also has one of these pups and her kiddo loves it just as much as mine. Will make a great gift in the future.AundreaInOregon

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/12/2014I can't be too picky.I am some what disappointed because of the poor quality of plastic but I can't be too picky because it was very inexpensive and my children do love it. My kids spend hours "digging for treasure" so all in all it was worth it.sipui

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/26/2014Good for tots and somewhat small spaceNo assembly necessary!! My kind of sandbox :) My little guy recently became crazy about sand boxes at the park - so we decided to get one of these for our place... A condo with a porch. Now he can entertain himself outside even though we don't have a yard. Play sand is inexpensive, so we just sweep up and refill when necessary. Our little one likes to sweep too! One 50 lb bag (I think) of sand is just about enough, maybe another 1/2 bag would be better. It's easy for him to cover and uncover himself and keeps out neighborhood squirrels, raccoons and pests. I hope the wasps stay away when it gets warmer.Samipoo
