Easy to work with
I'd never worked with fondant before this, I reviewed application videos on U-Tube then went for it. Walmart got the product to me very quickly at a great price. It was a lot easier to work with than I imagined, only suggestion, get a very wide fondant roller. The product is so dense a standard roller leave small lines visible (mostly to the person doing the work). My grandson loved the cake, as did all the party attendees. I needed the fondant as a smooth base for the "sugar sheet" topping I used. For the trim I used a buttercream frosting.

Cracks
I just bought this fondant and all of these cracks appeared when I was flattening it and once I put it on the cake it completely stretched and separated. I went to go buy a new package and still all of these cracks began to appear. I use to love working with this fondant brand and never had an issue but now I am going to have to start looking for another brand.

    Great tool - Saves time
    Well priced and easy to work with. My husband and I are not professional cake makers, but we do enjoy making fun cakes for our kids birthdays. We've used Wilton fondant icing on a few cake designs now and it has always done the job we needed it to do. The white fondant can be mix with gel food coloring to make whatever shades you need, with the exception of red and black. Those I would recommend buying pre-mixed. We would recommend it!

    Very good fonfant
    This was so easy to work with and I am an amateur, and it tastes great just like marshmallow. It will be hard in package when it arrives just microwave a few seconds and it loosens right up.

    Good for beginners
    It is a good fondant material for beginners to start with. It is cost effective. I just used half of the block but I can decorate the whole cake. Tip is not to let it touch water, it will be melt. First time I did a fondant ring around the cake and leave it in the fridge, next thing I know, it messed up my cake because it absorbs all the moist of the cake. So I did the decoration separately and keep them in the closed container, only put it on the cake after taking it out of the fridge. Will buy more to decorate more cakes.

    Wilton Decorator Preferred Vanilla Fondant
    Wilton preferred Vanilla- flavored Fondant is a package that contains 2 sealed pouches! They can be used to cover a cake using the Easy glide smoother . You can roll, cute and shape to top cakes, cookies, etc! A great thing about this is it Kosher Ingredients! I found it pretty easy to cute out shapes using cookie cutters to but on top of a frosted cake! It's soft and flexible and easy to use! I didn't have the easy glide smother to try to cover a cake with, so maybe next time! I recommend this for someone that has experience in decorating cakes but also for someone wanting to try it out as you can use one pouch to experiment and the other for when you are actually decorating for the big event!

    Do you love iced raisin bread?
    If so, this is the product you need! I know its designed to make those fancy birthday and wedding cakes. Im not a fancy cake baker. Im just a grandma who enjoys baking for her family. Especially during the holidays! I was anxious to try this fondant to see what else can be made with it. First i'll review the product itself. Its delicious! Not too sweet, no funny after taste. Its soo easy to use! Comes premade. Just cut off a hunk, put it in a ziplock (if youre adding coloring or flavoring) and knead for a few minutes. It softens up nicely, and rolls out like a dream. I tried it on molasses cookies. That was a fail. The fondant firmed up and fell off. The trick would be to roll it out thin and put the little circles on the cookies right out of the oven. It has to glum onto the cookie. Then i tried making my favorite baked good..iced raisin bread! It worked fantastic! Roll it into a thin-ish oval and lay it over the loaf while still very warm. If it doesnt glum on after a few minutes..put the loaf back into the oven to heat up the fondant. It sticks perfectly! Tip: Use an electric knife to cut your bread. I flash froze the slices on a cookie sheet, then stored them in a freezer zip lock. Heres the amazing part! You can warm up your slice in the microwave, and the fondant doesnt melt! (I used the defrost setting). The fondant is fun to use..like play dough you can eat!

    My Family really enjoyed this fondant
    This Fondant is good it tastes and feels like a marshmallow. Doesn't have that normal bland flour taste that most fondants have. This 5lb package came in 2 foil packages to keep it soft and fresh. I honestly would have preferred 4 packages in the box. We used Wilton food coloring gel to add color to the fondant and made circles to add to the tops of the rice krispies. My child who is 9 really enjoyed working with this fondant it was easy for him it was just like playdoh he said. We didn't have to add any powdered sugar it didn't stick to his hands. It did get a bit sticky when rolled out an that's where you would need to add something to keep it from sticking if your covering a cake. Overall I love this an will buy it.
