Fun game, good learning opportunity!
This is a fun game to do when you have a big group of people who can team up. The game itself is easy to understand and fun to play. If kids want to play it, I suggest they should team up with teens or adults because they might not know at all a few of the subjects presented on the cards (200 of them, by the way!). We liked the game because on the back of each card there are a few sentences describing what came first and on which year, a good chance to learn new things. There is a big level of surprise when you are pretty sure that something came first but you were wrong! The 12 betting chips are heavy and of good quality but the 4 playing pieces could be better as they are made of two interlocking pieces which sometimes get disconnected while playing. We will keep playing this game and learning from the 200 quizzes!

Fun, but does not last long
This game was pretty fun. I had this in mind to play at family gatherings which several generations being on different teams to try to keep it fair. The game was actually harder than expected as some of the items were really random. But, there were some cards that were pretty much common sense. The major issue with this game is the fact that once you know the cards, the game is no fun. It does not take long to play, so we went through cards pretty quickly. So, this is a game that is definitely fun. However, it is not a game that is likely to have a different outcome every time because the years don't change. It was entertaining and stirred up some family arguments, which is always fun. But, like I said, I can't really bring it to the next family gathering because we know the cards now. The upside is that it is very easy to understand as the rules are simple. This is one that you could easily teach younger kiddos to play. I think I would get more of a kick with the years that the youngsters throw out rather than actually playing the game with a mix of teenagers and adults. So, not a bad game. But, not one that I can see staying the game closet for years to come.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/17/2020Very funThe chips that come with the game are colorful and heavy. They are made really well. The game is simple. Each card has one thing written on the yellow side and something else on the orange side of the card. Put one, two, or three chips on the side you think happened first. The concept is basic, but the game is very fun. My pre-teen and teen children enjoy the game as much as I do.IvyNite

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/28/2019Fun, but...This was a pretty fun game. The problem is, once you get through all of the questions, it basically has no more use. Especially if you play with the same people, because then you will know the answers to all of the cards. While this game was a fun time-killer, it is definitely one of those games you have to pass on, after you've played it. If those are your kind of games, then this is worth buying. If you're looking for a game that you can play over, and over again, this is not your game. It also came with this cute little guy. Not sure what it is. A potato? A ball? My kids love it, thoughbreez1990

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/25/2019So much fun!I am writing this review on the Cardinal Games What Came First Game, 4 Pack. I was very impressed with this game and Big Potato games! First of all, the hand written thank you message and potato plushie they threw in with the game was above and beyond! That showed they really care about making their customers happy. But second, and more important, the game is really fun! This game is easy to play and not overcomplicated. This is a fun game to play with the whole family. And one of our new favorites on our adult game night! I highly recommend this game!buyerfromhere

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/23/2019OkayOkay game, good to spark conversation and learn facts. Played with two players, but it wasn't as interesting as I expected. Still, something different and new. I like that players can make bets and the bets impact the position on the board. Lots of cards. My only issue is after playing a few times, you will know all the answers.QueenLadi

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/22/2019The kids loveMy older boys love this game especially since they can bet with poker chips and act like they are adults playing poker. This games is fun for the whole family. I'm so glad we got this one and we can get the family together for a game and just be together. This is a great product and I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good game.BoyMom

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/22/2019What a super fun game!We opened the game as soon as it came and the fun began. It's so much fun and educational too. Your motive is to guess which of the two options on the card came first and successfully bet on the outcome. It is a hoot and the answers are very surprising. It is a snap to learn and is an excellent party trivia board game for adults, teens and families. Recommended for 2 or more players. It's recommended for 10 years old and up, although teens and adults might have much more knowledge to play a better game.dvivster

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/19/2019Fun gameThis is a fun game and can also be educational. It's a great way to get kids to increase their knowledge, vocabulary , and confidence in voicing their opinion. I don't think it's really age appropriate for 10 year olds ... I would estimate high school age kids would appreciate it more. The game is cutely packaged and comes with a little stuffed potato and a personalized note.sg
