Easy to use/efficient
We stained our fence and deck last weekend. Originally, they were both a natural cedar-tone color. And we decided to change things up quite a bit and go with a solid stain in a slate gray color. It was suppose to be a "4-Gallon" project according to stain manufacturer's quantity estimate. 10 GALLONS later, we have an amazing looking fence and deck! We couldn't have done it without the sprayer; as we did the spray/back-brush method that was recommended to us. The stain was quite thick since it was a solid stain and they tend to be thicker in consistency. So the sprayer did not work so great in our first attempt. However, we added paint thinner to help with the application and the back-brushing...and that worked beautifully. We will definitely be using this sprayer again. Our only wish would be for the container that holds stain to be a bit larger (for large jobs) so we wouldn't have to fill it too often.

Terrible!
If you're looking for a sprayer to never use, this is the right one. If you're looking for a sprayer to paint a fence, move along. I've attached a picture for your reference, but it took me about 3 hours to paint a stretch (half) of fence about 20 feet long. Impossible. I had to stop every few minutes to unclog, take apart, clean, or just investigate the machine to see what was wrong. I could not believe how troublesome and difficult it was to get this sprayer to do the job. I was spraying straight up and down so there was very little tilt or unevenness. The suction pipe kept getting clogged and there's no way to unclog it without taking the whole thing apart and blowing it out. Disappointing.

    Barely sprays
    Barely sprays. Yes I adjusted the settings, yes I used thinner. Picture is about 10 sweeps of white paint. Wanted to do entire room, no way it would get done at this rate.

    very well worth the money.
    I have been spraying Flood stain on my fence, I have tried the brushes and the rollers. I should have bought this sprayer to start with I did not even have to thin out the stain at all and it goes on perfect!!!clean up took less than 5 minutes.

    Still Clogs
    Even with the measuring and thinning out the sprayer get stuck. To much thinner then you get washed out water color.

    Bottom Line Is It Works
    It's messy. You have to thin the paint and you have to be very, very careful about cleaning it up when you're done for the day, but the bottom line is it works and it works well.

    This Wagner Control Spray Double Duty Sprayer solved all the problem I experienced with previously owned Wagner sprayers, the problem of spilling paint while holding the filled paint reservoir in one hand and with the other hand trying to screw power unit on to it. This unit was completely redesigned so it only requires a 45 degree swing to attach power unit to the filled reservoir. It has a 48 ounce reservoir so you don't have to refill so frequently and the volume control and spray pattern are so superior it defies any comparison to previous models. I bought it to stain some cedar siding shingles on my house, I first tried my old Wagner Project Sprayer and it was a disaster, but when I used the new sprayer it was unbelievable easy, hardly any overspray, no dripping it actually made the project an enjoyable activity.

    Great Sprayer
    I am surprised how really well this inexpensive sprayer works. Normally we all know the common story about buying less expensive items - they either don't work right or last very long before falling all apart. Wagner on the other hand produces quality products even those normally classed as being less expensive. I am most pleased with this Wagner Sprayer purchase - thus far it has sprayed basically any fluids I've fed to it w/o any problems i.e. oil and latex types of paint, sealers. Had to really thin the sealer but that was due to the fact that I also added some non-slip grit to the deck sealer and it turned out just fine. Great product would recommend this product to others.

    Pretty decent for the cost!
    It is works really well, you have to be careful how you twist it on, I think a small piece may have came off but its still functional and it worked great for my textured living room wall. No clogging as long as you follow the direction, I added enough water to thin it out. Overall so far a pretty good product!

    Couldnt be happier
    Bought this to stain our deck. Used a solid stain. The most important thing was to thin the paint correctly which we jused used wayer and it was a breeze. What used to take us 6-8 hours took us a total of 2 hours start to finish. Wecouldnt be happier and cleaning the sprayer was simple. Took about 15 min. Now its boxed up and teady for the next job
