Poor design and STINKY!
Got this tent out to set it up for Christmas morning surprise and couldn't get the poles to stay in place because most of the canvas is open that they slide through. Also it has a terrible old basement mildew smell that I couldn't get past. Some of the lights were falling off and the wire is so loose you can tell it won't last long. Stuggled with tying the poles to keep them in place so gave up after over an hour of jacking with this piece! Soooo back in the bag it went to return to the store! Not a fun surprise at 10pm on Christmas eve!

    Cute tent!
    I just bought this tent for my Grandkids for Christmas. I purchased the navy & white one at our Sam's store on clearance. I got a GREAT price & couldn't pass it up & I'm glad so glad I purchased this tent. The lights are adorable & there is so much room inside the tent for the kids to play. The only reason I did not give the tent 5 stars is because I agree...there should have been a pocket for the bottom of the poles to go into. I'm going to attach some velcro to assure that the poles do not slip out. Over all this was a GREAT purchase & my grandkids LOVE it :)

    My 5 year old got this as a birthday present from her aunt. We put it together last night and had trouble with it. The part where the poles slide through only have about 4-5 buttons for each pole and the canvas is open. It made it hard to keep the poles in place, especially at the bottom because the pole only sits inside the canvas and does not have a 'pocket'. It would make more sense for the tube to slide the poles in to be completely enclosed. Also, 2 of the top bottoms popped off while standing it up and tying the top rope. There were not any directions to describe how to put the top rope in so we had a hard time figuring out how to tie it and keep the canvas up tight. I have thought about sewing all of the tubes together to keep the poles from sliding out but that seems like too much of a hassle when paying this much for a teepee.

    Almost Perfect Christmas Present
    I have not yet set this tent up as I purchased it as a Christmas present for my 18 month old son. I did however take a look at the display in the store. (Thanx Sam's) It is 6ft tall and big enough for multiple kids to play in. I am getting this as a play house for my son and all of his toys. I think the canvas could be heavier for better durability. the first bag/case that we bough was ripped and had runs like they were pantyhose. I am hopping the canvas doesn't do this but it makes me cautious. It is the same thickness as the tent with stars. The pre-strung lights are little snowflakes about the size of a dime or smaller connected with bare copper wire that runs under a flap so it is covered. This is one of two gripes as my son may see the lights and decide to explore what makes them work. Not sure if the battery send enough voltage for a shock but I will probably not be using this feature. he wire is thin and can easily be damaged if taken apart or explored by kiddos. The only other thing I absolutely hate are the windows. I would have liked to have a cover for them that the kids could raise or lower. It is just a big hole. Either way I know my son will enjoy it. I did not detect a strong packing/chemical odor.
