Gift
This was actually a gift for my niece. I have the Sims 4 and have been playing The Sims for over 20 years. I loved 1, 2, and 3, but I am finding 4 expensive and boring. I think they pulled too many of the items from the game to create stuff packs to sell separately causing the game to be completely dull. My niece wanted the game and it was her birthday, so I got it for her. This has no reflection on Walmart or the purchase.

Actual disk, not game code. Super fun tho!
I thought I was purchasing the game key, not an actual disk. Its fine I guess, but one of the reviews said they got a key, so I was expecting that. There was no info on the description that indicated it was a physical disk. The game is super fun though.

    More SIMS!
Sims 4, a gift for the 15 year old granddaughter, she plays it all the time, so apparently likes it, as she will only let others play if she plays with them. She recommended to several of her friends.

    Fun For A While
I've had Get to Work for about a year now, and what I can say is that it is a good addition to the base game. Your sims now have active careers and your able to follow your sims to work and complete tasks with them. You also can run your own store or business. You get the new photography skill, baking skill, and many other interactions. When I first bought the game I was very impressed and I had loads of fun playing with it during the first couple of months. After a while, taking your sims to work became boring. The tasks you have to repeat are very repetitive, this expansion can lose it's new game shine very quickly if you aren't into repeating things. You get a lot of new clothes, hair, and makeup in Create a Sim so that's a plus. They also have an alien life state, your male sims can even get pregnant with an alien baby! That was very fun to play with. I would recommend getting this expansion, but also look into getting Get Together so you can add something more once you get bored of this one. Overall is a good expansion adds something fresh to the base game, but can get boring after you've done all the careers.

    Good addition to game
Purchased as a gift for someone else, but they said it plays well, and is a good addition to the game.

    Better Than I Expected
I didn't exactly have low hopes for Sims 4's first expansion, but I didn't expect it to be as fun as it is. I'm one of the types that has to mention I've been playing the Sims since the very first one. (Sorry) But I mention it because since the very beginning, Sims fans have always wanted to control their working sims at that Sim's job. We finally get to do this and it could have turned out annoying or bad, but didn't. If you didn't know, there are three controllable careers, plus you can open your own business and control it. I'll admit that's not much, but anyone that's played an EA game knows that they'll milk our wallets for expansions. But don't hold that against The Sims. It's like that will all games these days. I won't reveal too much about Get To Work, but I will say a few things. The careers you can control are medical, scientist, and detective (if you didn't know this yet). Just like when you go on dates in the base game, with this you have objectives you can achieve at that Sim's job. You don't have to if you don't want to. If you want, you can just play around with stuff at their job. You can even do construction at your workplace and edit the building or grounds. Or you can achieve the goals they give you which will help you get promoted faster. Now remember I said things could have been worse, but turned out great? One example is that you don't HAVE TO follow your sim to work if you don't want to. If you'd rather focus on another sim from that family you can. If you don't follow your sim to work, then it's just like it always has been where the sim's work performance will depend on their mood. So you don't have to controll them at their job if you would rather play another sim from that lot at their job, or doing something else. I like that. I also like how I can load up another lot and be a customer at the other lot's job. Like I could open a business as one sim, then later playing another lot, I could go visit that same business and be it's customer. I didn't expect that. There's a ton of new items for our sims' homes-- more furniture, decorations, more interections, etc. They improved existing interactions that came with the base game. Many new improvements to the existing stuff. I found that I was playing the game a lot more often after I had gotten this expansions. There's only a few complaints and they're very minor complaints. One is that I hate launchers. I hate having to load stuff before I can load the game. Another complaint is that when you're controlling a sim at their job, the very second their work day ends, the game automatically loads up their home lot again. You can't stay late at their job and finish a task or mess around with stuff. I hate being kicked off the work lot the second the work shift ends. My final complaint is the price of the expansion. I agree that it is overpriced. I blame Electronic Arts for that, not the Sims creators. But as I said, these are minor complaints. The expansion is still a lot of fun and improves Sims 4. Personally, I'd recommend buying the disc version and not a digital download. If you ever have to reinstall the game, you won't have to wait for the long download that would have to take place before the actual reinstall. If you've ever liked the Sims, you'll like this. You just have to give it a chance and actually play it so you can see Sims 4 is the best one yet.
