Open for development but remote is atrocious.
Would have left 5-star rating yet the remote control is seriously lacking in response to input. USB keyboard works well so it works out. Great for "developers" who are keen to open up an OS and fiddle around. Found it "open" to development out-of-box... which was a nice surprise to just enable developer options and whatnot. Comes with preinstalled apps but if you see some app that is user installed, go to play store to uninstall and/or reinstall (update apps) if desired. Otherwise they may seem to be locked in to the system UI. Haven't found much that cannot be configure to my will. ADB and fastboot cmds are accepted. Need a USB-A to USB-A cable for initial connection but thereafter connects through local wifi network shared by devices. There is also an app in play store that allows the ADB/fastboot connection from other mobile device(s) by target IP address: Remote ADB Shell. Works. A responsive remote would be nice but, hey... can't have it all, right? Ordered three more for friends/family. lol Cheaper than a dedicated PC regarding the education of a "challenged" TV to elevate it to the top of the class. ;)
