Terrible Side Effects
Slow Fe Iron had an unwanted side effect. It also acts as a laxative. If you have IBS or digestive problems, DO NOT TAKE Slow Fe. It gave me a little energy boost but after the 3rd day, I could no longer deal with the frequent bowel movements. I lead a busy life style and need something more gentler on my stomach. This was just too much for me!!!!

    Works
Because it's not iron gluconate it nauseates and constapates me. But those are little issues, not worth the Doctor bill to get a script for the gluconate, for something that works.

    Review of Slow Fe
I've used Slow Fe for quite some time without any problems. As an RN for 32 years, I've talked to numerous patients on different types of iron supplements. As a pt., I've also taken many different kinds of iron supplements over the years. So far, out of all the iron types I've taken, Slow Fe works the best with the least amt. of side effects, %26 it is most frequently prescribed by the many physicians I've worked with! It works quickly, getting my iron level %26 hemoglobin back where they need to be, quickly increasing the oxygen in my blood %26 making me feel much better sooner. It is a small, coated tablet (it can NOT be crushed!) that is very easy to swallow, causes no nausea/vomiting, %26 best of all, unlike most iron supplements, it doesn't cause constipation! Granted, that may be a rare possibility for other pple., but has not been my experience. The only drawback is that it can occas. be a little more expensive than other types/brands. The generic iron can be purchased very inexpensively, but it almost always causes very bad constipation, often requiring an additional med. to treat that, or making pts. just stop taking the iron they need without discussing it with their doctor first. If prescribed an iron supplement for anemia, I STRONGLY recommend the Slow Fe. It will get you where you need to be quickly with little interruption to your life %26 zero, or very few, if any at all, side effects!

    Great
I had to take iron sting pregnancy for anemia. This one was recommended by my doctor to avoid issues with constipation that often happen when taking iron. And it worked, I didn't have any extra issues from taking it.

    Good supplement
Great to take as an iron supp if you are iron deficient. Not too hard on your stomach, but can cause constipation. I take daily with a stool softener.

    Easy on the Tummy
My doctor recommended Slow Fe when other iron supplements made me nauseous. I recommend it if you have similar issues.

    Great Iron Supplement
This is the best iron supplement I have found. It is easily digested and absorbs well. No digestion problem. I use a vitamin C supplement to improve absorption. The packing is a little tricky, but the bubble pack is good for travel.
