Very happy with this purchase!
We got this for our 7 year old grandson and he and grandpa were enjoying it for hours every day he was here! He has asked us to please keep it in his room for when he comes back to visit. Well made, easy to get together, fun for all ages.

    Defective? Or Design flaw? Either way
    The reel does not lock when you close the bail immediately. There is only one location in the reel rotation that it can lock in lock position. So you may have to wait for that to rotate another 360 after the bail is down. I am not sure if this is a design or a defective reel, but not happy, I have to say. Price is okay, but there are others in the price point with fully functional reel. I do not recommend this.

    Beginners Rod
    Very easy to use for us beginners. Looks pretty nice. I would only recommend for rookie fisherman or kids. I dont think its intended for a consistent use. Reel has many plastic parts but for me that is okay. I normally go fishing once or twice a week. I knew of the brand as a bicycle maker but I guess its also into fishing. I would recommend it, for the price its perfect for me.

    Great little combo.
    I love this little combo. I've used it three times. The ix1000r is a great pan fish real. The rod is a very fast rod. Makes those bluegill and shell crackers so much fun!!!! I ordered the 2000 series a couple days ago. Can't wait to try it out.

    Love the "trigger" release
    Excellent reel for the price. Great reel at any price. The "trigger" to open the bail is brilliant. I had one years ago and it's great to be back!
