Seagate: Another Big Company Turns Crooked
Aside from being formatted as exFAT by default, this drive will only function as NTFS when formatted under Linux, without ever being used under Windows, or you will lose -- in addition to the enhanced stability and security of a fixed, non-virtual file system -- the ability to transfer files of 4 GB or more to it. This can only mean that Seagate and M$ have gotten together to use the firmware of Seagate's equipment to sabotage it on behalf of the entertainment industry, based on the premise that the smaller the files consumers are limited to, the less chance of them acquiring bootleg, high quality movies and hence the greater the potential profits for the movie industry. When big companies start deciding that it's profitable to collude together to sabotage the equipment of consumers, the only safe recourse is to jump ship and take your chances with open source software exclusively, regardless of any obstacles created by M$ and its myriad partners. For the past several years, I was willing to give M$ another try following some dozen years or so being an exclusive Linux user after my disastrous experiences with WinME and WebTV (which I had the misfortune to buy in '99, shortly after M$ acquired it from Sony

    Excellent!
Bought the item to store the photos from my old laptop. Ordered online and the delivery was fairly quickly. The set up is very easy - plug in and start transferring files in a matter of minutes. FYI, the USB cable included is about 4 inches, USB 3.0 and, the one end of it is not the typical USB shape - see attached photo.

    Works as Expected. Thanks
Already had one just like this - it got filled up. Arrived quickly (Thank You), hooked it up, formatted (using windows 10 (for now - soon to switch to Linux). And began saving documentary videos on it (I'm a big History Buff).

    Perfect For Safe Storage
I have used this brand as my back up for years. I bought a 5TB and this 2TB at the same time. The 5TB is for everything, home, business, etc. This 2TB is for my graphics and business info. I love the portability and ease of use with this brand and after many years of use without a single problem, I trust them.

    Reliable and Easy
I take a lot of photos and videos and because of this I need something that I can rely on to store all of my memories and important documents. The Seagate portable expansion works perfectly and I can rest assured that my documents are safe. This expansion is easy to set up and use and has plenty of storage space. I highly recommend this for anyone who needs more storage and backups for their memories and documents. This expansion has really helped me feel more confident and comfortable with my photos, video and other documents.

    A must have!
This is very easy to hook up. After plugging into your computer, go to your File Explorer, under the Your PC section you'll see your external hard drive and in there you'll see a file to open up to register and find out how to use. Very fast and simple, I have great peace of mind knowing my files are secure. I definitely recommend.
