Sauder 5-shelf bookcase top quality
This bookcase looks like it would cost 2x what it did cost!! Took a man 30 min to do it!! Very sturdy and would nice!! Would buy it again!!

Downright horrible
I am NEVER ordering from Hayneedle. I ordered 2 items and both came damaged. When I requested a replacement they refused and stated to ship the item back and reorder. The process is double complicated due to them not reinforcing their shipments. Horrible item craftsmanship and terrible customer service. 0 stars.

    Sauder is improving there items!
    It comes with a Nail Holder which needs to be DX'd as it was useless, other than that this bookshelf was so easy to put together, the instructions were clear and at the end needed help as it is wobbly until you add the shelfs and it became stable. Looks like real wood. The box is compact unlike the old days were you got a big box nope but you might need 2 people to bring it in you place of living

    Good value, sturdy, looks good, great instructions
    This bookshelf is a good value. For being particle board with wood grain finish, it is very well-constructed and sturdy and looks good! There is "some assembly required" - actually a lot of assembly! However, the instructions are very clear with lots of tips to avoid making mistakes. Not difficult if you take your time. There are even some light-hearted encouragements in the instructions to keep you going.

    My bookshelf ended up coming out really nice and I made it by myself (24 year old woman). what I didn't like was that I paid a couple hundred dollars for this and they didn't even bother delivering it to my door so I had to ask for help to carry it up to my apartment. The bookshelf itself is really nice and I'm very excited for it! The only thing I didn't know until I bought it was that it needs to be drilled into the wall - I didn't do that so I'm just not putting as much heavy things on it right now.

    I love the color. Assemble was fairly easy, it's strong and steady. The deepness from front to back is fantastic, you are able to put two rows od DVD's. If my livingroom was larger I would buy a second one.

    Nice Quality, Beautiful Finish
    I like how nice and sturdy this bookcase is and how easy it is to put together. I purchased this bookcase for my daughter as an early Christmas present, in order for her to get all her books out of 6 milk crates. I like the finish of the Lintel Oak, and I also like that Sauder included an anchor to attach to the wall (optional use) We used it so it won't topple over with all c of her heavy books. The one slight criticism I have is that the front finishing pieces (see the first 2 photos) dont go flush to the side and has a small amount of space. To my daughter and I it's not a big issue but this being improved by Sauder would be a benefit and I feel obligated to let others know of this minor defect/imperfection. Other than that (and it varies shelf to shel as to the space , the 2 photos I'm sharing of this defect are the ones most noticeable) this bookcase is very well made and extremely sturdy. If you've got children, or are placing this on top of carpet, I do recommend using the anchor to secure it to the wall to prevent injuries from toppling over. Highly satisfied with how fast it was able to be assembled. Was assembled in under 1 hour by my son after reading the step by step instructions and following them.

    Very pleased with the outcome.
    I'm 68-year-old female almost 69 and I put this together by myself. It took me a couple weeks before I had the guts to put it together. I used to do this all the time but it's been a while. I'm not sure how long it took me but at least 2 hours. I put a bunch of books on already so I think it'll work well for me and it is wide enough for my fabric baskets to fit on the bottom shelf. Not done with the rearranging but for now it'll do.

    Awesome unit. Looks beautiful, very well made. Their were ladies that put this book case together. Its huge. Two or us put it together. One lady read directions and one lady held the case while we hammered the back board on. Very very happy. But didnt like the white plugs well paint them or I will pick. Some up. I purchase the grey . I put these together for my friend. Very heavy...

    I really love these shelves They make such a change in my living room!!! The only thing I am not fond of is the things to hide the screws. They are white and do not match the shelves as I'd have expected. The shelves are heavy and seem very sturdy though and for me that is the most important thing!
