STURDY GATE
This gate surprised me. I did not think I would like it as much as I do and I was dreading the 'gate' age of the baby. First of all, this gate is a good height. It is hard enough carrying a baby and other things and trying to open a gate. This height is good so you don't have to stoop or bend. I am average height. The lock is secure...definitely childproof yet easy to open. This is the sturdiest gate I have seen. Once you put it up it is staying as it has tension bars that extend to the wall for safety as well as sturdiness.It is not hard to install and it is a quick proceedure.It is a nice style and nice looking in the home. I do like this product. I still need one more gate ans would like another one of these!

Great Looking Gate But Has Flaws
The Regalo Home Accents Extra Wide and Tall Safety Gate is very sleek and elegant looking. I love the black finish with hardwood. This gate will fit an opening from 29 to 44 inches. It comes with two optional extension kits which I did not have to use. One is 4 inches and the other is 6 inches wide. It stands 38 inches tall. I was actually a bit surprised by the height. It may be tall for certain households or maybe I'm just use to shorter gates. If this gate is being used at the top of a stairway it might be too tall and I would not recommend it for that type of use. The "Easy Close" feature which allows you to simply swing the gate closed with one hand and it latches on its own is very appealing. The "Easy Close" feature worked for awhile but eventually became loose and it stopped latching on its own then you have to make sure to properly close it. This is the first gate that I have owned with this feature and it made life a little easier with babies and housework. I am disappointed that it did not last long though. I don't understand what I could have done differently as the gate was being used daily but just normal wear and tear. Also you do not have to screw anything into your walls which is great so there are no holes. Instead there are spring like washers which tighten against the wall but again after some normal usage they would loosen on their own and shifted the whole gate. It continually came out of place and had to be readjusted. It is a very good looking gate, best looking one I have seen thus far but because of those two functional issues I would not recommend this gate.

    Good product, but decreased quality somehow?
    I bought this product a few months ago and loved it! It's sturdy and looks so nice. I needed a secon gate and decided to buy the same one. Much to my dismay, this one feels more flimsy and doesn't look nearly as nice. You can clearly see the difference between the pictures in the quality. I'm disappointed but it functions so I guess it's fine.

    love this gate
    I am really enjoying this safety gate. I have a large dog that can usually jump over normal sized gates, but this one is tall enough that she can't jump over it. I also like the locking part of it. It is high enough and difficult enough that my 1 year old grand daughter can't reach or figure out how to open it. Most gates are lower and most kids can figure them out, I have no doubt that this one will not be able to be opened by her or any child that I have in my house. I'm not sure about the extra wide part of it, not sure if you have to buy extensions for this or not. Mine is no wider than a normal sized door way. I was hoping that it was extra wide for a door way that I have. But even though it's not extra wide, the tall part of it is great. It is a very sturdy gate that will last for along time and with stand some roughness from children.

    Love the Home Accent Gate
    I have two white gates with levers that both my Siberian husky and my boxer can push open with their noses. The Regalo is 38" tall and fits 29" to 44" but is not as sturdy when fully expanded. Fortunately we only need 36" and it fits perfectly and I just love the automatic close feature. Our dogs cannot open this gate so we don't have to worry about them getting in closed off areas. Regalo does not make the Home Accent line for larger openings but they do make an extra wide gate in black that expands to 52"with extensions and it has the new easy lock handle. We plan on ordering these to replace our older white lever gates. We love how smooth the gate opens and we did not have to drill in the walls but the best feature is the quality and look. The gate blends beautifully with our hardwood floors and looks very attractive. It is much easier to walk through than our previous gates. The instructions were clear and simple to follow. There is a 2" opening when you first receive the gate but it slowly fills in from the tension as you tighten down all four points. Excellent product.

    Works Great, Looks Great
    This is a wonderful product that is a breeze to install. It comes with two extra pieces that are the extensions for the wider door facings. I did not need them, but for those that do, they simple to add to the gate. To install you start out with 4 small disc that you attach to the door frame with screws. You have 4 "Pressure" screws have rubber washers attached to the ends and the screws simply slide into the ends of the gate. The Rubber circles on the pressure screws fit securely into the disc that you previously attached to the wall. Then you tighten the plastic nut until the gate is at the right closure to lock properly. Unlocking the gate is so simple. There is a small button on each side of the latch on top of the door. You press both buttons together and pull back to unlock. To lock, just push the gate closed. The gate is a black finish with what looks like dark Cherry wood accents. This product looks so much better than the plain white and black gates I have seen. This is a great product for anyone with small children and animals. Functional and looks Amazing. *Received this product for testing purposes. Opinions are 100% my own.

    This is not your average safety gate. Regalo Home Accents Extra Wide and Tall Safety Gate is a work of art that adds beauty as well as security to your home. Its durable, wrought-iron construction and cherry-wood accents are pleasing to the eye, and easily keeps pets and small children safe. The gate's latch is easy to open, but only if you are taller than the gate, which is a plus. Installation is relatively simple, and it can be done by one person. The first thing you should note is an orange sign that tells you the gate arrives looking as if it is unable to close. It will not latch until it is installed. Because the gate is pressure-mounted, you don't need to put holes in your walls. Four long screws with rubber ends come with the gate, and these slip into holes at the gate's four corners. Place the gate at the opening you wish to block, and hold it steady as you tighten each screw until the gate is wedged securely between the walls or in the doorway. Once the gate is secured, the two sides come together and latch. The gate is 31 inches tall, and includes two extenders for extra-wide door or hallway openings. I used one extender to fit the gate in the hall, and it looks beautiful. The fact that it is pressure-mounted makes it just as easy to remove at a moment's notice if necessary. Overall, a wonderful product that I will enjoy using for years to come.

    Regalo Home Accents Extra Wide and Tall Safety Gat
    I love the look of this gate. It blends beautifully with just about any décor. The dark color and hardwood accents are really lovely and blend beautifully with hardwood flooring and furniture. The gate is relatively simple to install and it took me only 5 or 10 minutes to get set up. I used this at the bottom of my staircase to corral the grandkids. I think I would have to think twice about using it at the top, mainly because I have it stretched to it's max width. Gravity, in this case, is not necessarily your friend. My staircase is 44" wide, the maximum for this gate so it is necessary to extend the mounting screws just about all the way so it is not as secure as it is in a smaller opening. The instructions were clear and simple. The lock system is very good. You need to pinch both sides simultaneously and slide the mechanism to the left. No toddler would be able to open it easily and it would take them quite a long time (if ever) to figure out the mechanism. The height of the gate is quite tall which is perfect for homes with toddlers or large dogs. The extensions for the gate were really helpful since I needed both to use where I needed it. I wish they sold additional extensions but the parts list that came with the gate does not list them so I'm not sure they are available. It is nice to be able to swing it open and walk through rather than climbing over the old wooden gate I had. This gate is great for the limited use of a Grandma but looks every bit tough enough for daily toddler or pet use. Overall, I am quite impressed.

    Easy to install, wide and tall gate
    The reason I order the regalo extra wide and tall safety gate is for my dogs to stay in the porch and not come in our living room . When I received it about two weeks ago , I realize it wasn't that heavy which I thought it would be, I didn't like that at all . It is a nice looking gate .It is black with a brown design in the middle which it makes the gate look very fancy . It is 38 inches tall and its wide like it says . It expands to fit open from 29'' to 44'' wide . It also comes with an 4-6 inches wide extension kits. It also comes with an easy handle you can close very easily .You don't need to take everything apart when you walk by , you just open the little handle . Makes it easy when you have groceries in hand or a baby on your arms .All you need to is simply push the door closed .As I had mention before I bought this for my dogs to stay in the porch. I have a Chihuahua and a germen shepherd . When mi Chihuahua try to come in the living room , he pushes the gate a few times and it wont open or it wont move from is place .So the gate does help me to keep him out . But when my shepherd (which is about 20 lbs) pushes the gate and try to come in the gate wont open right away but after a few times the gate does stumble or she moves it a little . Once she did push so hard the she did open it , I don't know how she did it but there she was inside my living room . So if someone asked me if I recommend this gate I would say yes but only for small pets or children under 5years . But not for big dogs I honestly don't think it will hold up to a big dog. I hope this review helps you choice if this is the best gate for you .

    Very stong!
    The first thing I noticed is how strong this gate looks and feels. This is not plastic like most gates, it made of solid metal. Putting it together is a breeze and the instructions are very clear. I plan on using this to keep my grandchildren in one room and out of the basement stairway. They already know how to open the door so the gate made it easy. It works out just right. It measures 26" wide by 37.5" high using the gate without the included extensions. The doorway I put it in leads to the basement and is 30" wide. It fit nice and snug because you can adjust it as tight as you need it. It is a little cumbersome to set up the first time. You may need a partner to hold the gate as you tighten it up. If the manufacturer would add something to hold the adjuster screws in place while you tighten, this could be easily be set up by one person. I will be getting another one for other places in my home. This gate is very sturdy. When using this in an area where it can slide or come loose if a child puts enough weight on it, be sure to use the included plastic cups that are designed to keep the gate secure. These cups will keep accidents from happening. The latch system is built very well also and will not be very easy for a child to defeat. Having to push both buttons on each side of the gate to open it is a nice safety feature, the hand of a child is just not big enough or strong enough to open it. It is easy on the eyes as it seems to blend in with the my wood doorway. The dark colored rails and wood like inserts make it look like it belongs there. The only thing that concerns me is the bottom rail. When you open the gate, the rail could cause someone to trip if they are not mindful of the bottom rail. Other than that, I like it! Strong and easy to use, very versatile since it can be adjusted for any doorway with or without the extensions. The extensions are very easy to attach, just slide the on and you are good to go!
