it's ok
it's cheaper than I thought it would be...being plastic. there is not pin to lock it into place. had to get that separately

Fun little addition as I also bought a Razorback sticker and placed on the cover to light up in braking. Looks expensive. Like most things today, this light is plastic and can easily brake if left hanging, recommend also adding a trailer latch to keep the light from slipping out

    Great product and great price
Works great. Has all you need to install. Great price. Love that it lights when braking and when the vehicle is running.

    Works great! However...
Works great. Adds a further level of attention-grabbing visibility/safety to a Jeep Wrangler which otherwise has the third/middle brake light mounted high above the rear door-mounted spare tire. However, being all-black plastic inside and out, the inside of my first one was melted slightly from someone else's foot spending too much time on the brake pedal (used as a footrest for long phone conversations). Also, the first unit brake-light function failed after 6 months (that would be the higher-current draw through the 2-into-1 trailer electronic adaptor circuit module that powers the brake light filament inside the incandescent 1157 bulb). I think the module itself failed as substituting bulbs and measuring voltage appeared normal. Upon buying another replacement Bully hitch cover it is working fine again. I then tried to substitute an LED 1157 in place of the supplied incandescent bulb, but it did not work well at all -- very dim output, virtually no change in brightness when applying brakes, and what little light it did emit was directed to the sides where it disappeared into the black interior of the plastic housing and not out the rear opening... and this was WITHOUT the red lens cover installed! As someone else mentioned, it would be nice for Pilot/Bully to improve this product by redesigning it to work with an appropriately-functioning (and easily replaceable/obtainable/"standard") longer-lasting, cooler-running, less battery-draining LED lamp. Hope this next one lasts longer than 6 months (if I can't change "someone's" habits).

New version, better than the previous model!
Works great! This is a new version, better than the previous model that Walmart sold years ago. My older model red lens broke off. Both have a flat, 4 prong wire harness. The older model actually only had 2 wires and used a single filament incandescent bulb, which means this light always flashed with the left signal, but not the right signal. That was weird. This newer model has 4 wires in the instructions as signal/brake, signal/brake, tail light, and ground, and might have a 2 filament incandescent bulb. The bulb is on low level power whenever your lights are on. It doesn't blink when your turn signals are on. It blinks when hazard lights are on and lights up brighter when you brake. Apparently, the small adapter box shown in the photo has circuits to prevents the blinking while turn signals on. I thought about getting the LED version which costs more, but its not in Walmart stores and takes several days to ship. When this bulb burns out, I'll simply install an LED bulb. It appears to be standard tail light style bulb. Very nice, I highly recommend this. Its worth the low cost to alert drivers behind you and help prevent rear end collisions!!!

    11$ vs 500$
I use this on my hitch tray because the tray sticks out and has been bumped numerous times with this and reflective tape hasnt happend since use this for my genarator and was tired of paying to have it fixed when it was hit and the 11 dollar thing fixed my continuous 500$ honda generator repairs

    Works great, self contained
I bought this for a safety light when the hitch isn't installed. I had to buy the four pin to seven blade adapter, which works well. The parking light, brake lights and hazard lights all activate this light. The only downside for me is that this incandescent and not an LED bulb, so it won't last as many years as an LED one, but it was well worth the price. Very bright!
