Good for a college student
This coffee table was delivered in a box that is only a little bigger than the tabletop and maybe about 3x as thick. It was very easy to assemble. A “hex key” is included which is used to tighten 4 screws per table leg (no additional tools needed). There are even 2 additional screws included in case you happen to lose one. The screws are also easily removed with the same hex key, making it easy to remove the legs for moving. The table top seems sturdy. I was expecting it to be a wood slab, but it seems to have a laminate wood-grain-patterned finish, and it looks like it may be particleboard underneath. I somehow already have a couple minor chips at the edges of the laminate finish. The “Sonoma oak” pattern apparently implies a couple things that I didn’t realize until I saw the tabletop in person: first, the color is more of a gray than most wood (I was expecting more of a brown), and second, there are several lines perpendicular to the grain of the “wood” that I think are supposed to look like “mill marks”. If you look at images of Sonoma oak wood, most of them do have those perpendicular lines, but I don’t particularly like them. There is no palpable difference in those areas of the finishing. The legs are light-weight, metal, hollow – I would imagine they’re the reason for the 40-lb weight limit. This is not a table to stand on when you need to reach something high. I have sat on it with no adverse consequences, but I won’t be doing that very often, as I’m afraid of breaking it. All 4 legs seem to hit the floor equally (it doesn’t wobble). This coffee table is about 18” tall – tall enough to keep a box of games under it, or a magazine rack, etc., or to cross your legs under while sitting on the floor with your computer or papers on it while studying. All told, this coffee table is functional and easy to assemble, but (in my opinion) is not the most visually appealing, especially from up close where you can tell it’s not real wood and see the little nicks around the edges. I would recommend it for, say, a college student who is going to be moving in and out of dorm rooms or apartments fairly often, but if you like “nicer” or higher-quality furniture, this is probably not the best choice for you.

    Functional and reasonably priced...
I needed an inexpensive coffee table, so I bought this. I had initially put this coffee table on my "wishlist" to think about if I really wanted it or not. I decided within a day or two that I did want to buy this coffee table, but by then it had already gone up in price about $6 or $7. It is attractive, easy to attach the legs to the bottom and serves its purpose, but it's not very heavy. I donated my old heavy wooden coffee table a few months ago and didn't realize how much I used to put my feet up on the table until I got this little table. Several times now, I've gone to rest my feet on this new coffee table and inadvertently moved the table every time, so if you're used to putting your feet up on the table, this may be a little too lightweight for you. I still like it, though -- has plenty of room for my necessities (tissue box, coasters, remote controls, eyeglasses, etc. )

I would highly recommend this coffee table.
Shipped in a timely manner. The coffee table is a perfect addition that completes the waiting area of an upcoming salon.

looks good at first glance, but..
The photo is misleading as the wood is really a vinyl covering, not real wood. Overall this is a functional piece of you just need a cheap, sturdy stable. Its fashionable because the "industrial" look is in and it sports a nice looking faux wood finish, sleek metal legs and is long enough to add decor, decanter, doritos, or whatever else you had in mind. Assembly was really easy and took me about 10 minutes (that includes sorting out the pieces and going over the instructions) The table fully assembled sits relatively low but dont let that be a deterrent...it's a fabulous piece for the price! Surprisingly heavy, which I like!! be aware: harsh or vigorous cleaning will cause the "faux wood" to peel, leaving behind and ugly white patch similar to trying to rip a price sticker off of something. Table scratches easily so dont slide anything on it, or put any sharp or jagged decor items on top. I removed a star for these reasons. I love this table for ors functionality, price point and easy assembly!! However, the wood finish, in my opinion, was done poorly. You can expect this table to last for years, as I've had mine since 2017.

    Love it!
It looks great!! I love the size and the height. The color is just as shown, I love it. My husband put it together in just a few minutes and easily. The table cannot hold a lot of weight so we have to remember not to lean on it when we stand up after sitting on the floor.

    I love it!
Well to begin, I'll say that the assembly was a breeze! Just a few minutes and didn't even need directions, yay! Can't remember if it had any, but none are necessary. I spent more time getting it unboxed than actually assembling it! This is a simple table. It isn't fancy, or bulky and taking up half the space in the room. What it is - makes it awesome. It is extremely sturdy and solid. This table will hold up whatever you put on it. The table top is textured so it isn't slippery. It looks kinda like a distressed wood pattern to me. It has an ash color with scratch marks and some light brown hints through it. It doesn't have a bit of a wobble, it's firm on my wood floor. I love the the hairpin legs. I don't know what the metal is but it has a black wrought-iron look to me. I really like that I can see the floor and furniture and its not obstructed by a bulky table. The table is slightly taller than I'm used to for a coffee table but I can live with it. Now I'm ready to look for some matching pieces. I think it is a beautiful table and it works so well in my family room. I'm very happy with this table and highly recommend it!

    Very Nice Coffee Table
I was given the opportunity to use and review the Owen Retro Coffee Table in Sonoma Oak. It came in a good sized box and was packaged well enough to keep it from damage. All parts were there, but besides the table there were only screws and an Allen wrench needed. Assembly was just attaching the legs to top, very simple. Two screws are left over for spares. Overall it is a typical coffee table. Very decent size and seems like it will hold up pretty well. The top is a textured wood grain finished laminate and is easily cleaned up. The legs are a grey metal and are quite sturdy. The whole table is light enough that anyone could easily move it. The design is simple but elegant and would go with most types of room decor. I wasn't too sure about it when we first put it together because we had one that was two levels with drawers for storage, but after giving it a shot it has really grown on me. We like this coffee table so much that we are getting ready to order the matching end table. It looks like an expensive retro modern piece. We have had no problems with this coffee table and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something simple and affordable.

I like the clean lines of this coffe table
Because I live in a small space, I'm usually drawn to multi-purpose furniture pieces (storage). But, I was drawn to the clean lines of the Owen Retro Coffee Table in Sonoma Oak finish. This coffee table really is quite attractive and has an open feeling that creates more visual space. The table top is described as engineered wood, but, it appears to be a solid piece of wood. It has a grey tone to the wood that makes it look modern and yet have a rustic look. I do not like the look of “country” – I’m one who enjoys the mid-century modern décor. However, I think this piece could look at home in any décor; from country to modern. The corners are a little sharp. If you have toddlers, you could easily put corner protectors on it. This table came in GREAT condition with no damage whatsoever. The legs were VERY easy to attach and they are sturdy. I put it together without even looking at the directions. (I recommend ALWAYS to read instructions first, though). The instruction booklet says the table should not have more than 40 pounds on it because it is only designed to hold up to 40 pounds. However, as you can see from the attached picture, my two Westies decided to get on it as soon as my back was turned. Together they weigh almost 50 pounds (they are a little big for Westies). The table did not seem to strain a bit under their weight. I do not recommend putting more than 40 pounds on the table-my dogs are not ones to listen to reason. I recommend this table to anyone. Don’t be fooled by the low price. It looks like quality.
