SUPERIOR DS!
Got the Pikachu 2DS XL edition to replace a regular DS that lasted 4 yrs. Got the Walmart extended warranty on this - love that it's offered! This version is very cute and recognisable, I'm sure he will be delighted when it reaches him.

Not a fan of the design
Feels more like the lite version of the 3DS. Seriously, the system is super light. I don't like that the speakers are on the bottom part of the system. Playing while resting the system on you will not sound great. That being said, the system runs games perfectly fine.

    I did lots of research before buying this DS. First, let me say that I bought this 2DSXL to replace a new 3DS XL that my daughter dropped and broke. I honestly loved the 3DS XL's graphics. However, my daughter never used that feature, and I do not have time to play as I used to; so when I asked my daughter if it matters if is 3d or not, she replied that as long as she can play all her 3ds games, it would be ok. My daughter loves it! it plays 3ds games and older games that she was not able to play before. Now, regarding the graphics, I love the 3d on the 3ds, but she likes the graphics on the 2ds better, so it all depends on what the person likes, and even if they can perceive images in 3d or not; apparently my daughter can not. Regarding the body design, this is by far the cutest DS I have seen.

    Love the design (can even feel the nose nub), and screen size. I just wish the buttons were different colors, but I get what they were going for (match Pikachu's stripes). Works great and was great price.

    Amazing quality and amazing design.
    Didn't think I'd like this as much as I did. Very cute and great quality. The entire DS (outside and inside) is of matte material, so no finger print smudges. The brown trim on the lid is of this rubbery plastic, so when you grip it to open the DS, it feels like you won't slip. The hinge opens with a soft snap, no loud click like my old 3ds xl. That one felt loud and obnoxious to open. Comes with a microSD card and charge cable too. Software wise is the same thing. Nothing fancy there. Only nit pick is the game cartridge bay, it's connected to the DS via a plastic sleeve, which I hope won't break off after repeating opening. The red pokeball DS looked great on top, but the interior red and black buttons didn't look feel right.. should have been white, black and red. This Pikachu yellow and brown combination, is very comforting to the eyes... Overall if you haven't upgraded your 3DS is a few generations and don't mind playing in 2D, this limited edition is the best one so far. Super pleased with this hardware.
