Great for curious minds
This is a great item for anyone who has a little geologist in them. This comes with everything you need to start polishing rocks. This is not for an impatient person, it does take anywhere from 3-4 weeks to get the results you want. My boys want to try different rocks they find outside in it. The machine itself is very strong and heavy. It's not as noisy as I thought it would be either. This would be a great gift for a young explorer.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
don't waste your money on this product at the beginning it worked fine in just 2 weeks it began to malfunction.... all the days light blink read ive unplugged it and turned back on still does it I even made sure it wasn't too heavy like too many rocks .. ..still malfunction this product is JUNK

    Get a better quality one
    It worked for about 3/4 of the polishing cycle and then decided to keep shutting off, the lights keep flashing to signal I over filled it however it is less than half full and still isn't working. It will go for about ten seconds then shut off.

    Great product and easy to use!

    It stopped working after the first set of rocks
    I tumbled one set of rocks and although it went through all the cycles the rocks polished but never had that shine that you see on the store bought polished rocks. They do look good when they are wet. I decided to try another set of rocks but the tumbler wouldn't work. It will run for about ten seconds then shuts off. I'm pretty disappointed with it

    Wonderful!
    My 7 year-old granddaughter went absolutely crazy over this. She didn't like that she'd have to wait a couple of weeks for the rocks to come out pretty, but what a great life lesson that conversation turned out to be! ("God uses rough stuff to get all the ugly off of us, but we come out new and beautiful when He's done!") Now she's doing video calls to show me the rocks in various stages of the polishing process.

    I love this thing! It's much quieter than the old style tumbler, but we put it under a box and covered the box with a blanket to further dampen the sound. Now it sounds like a pot of boiling water---a rather soothing sound, actually. Now I can polish the rocks I've been picking up all these years! I love science!

    Great features
    Excellent rock tumbler set that is great for kids and adults as well. It brings all the thing you need to learn, including rough gemstones and different grits for the different stages. It is fairly easy to use, but a kid may need help opening and closing the barrel. The process of polishing the rocks is very long, you have to be patient. We are currently in step two of four and every step takes between 3-10 days but is very exciting to see the changes and you can make jewelry with the polished rocks too. When the tumbler is on makes a lot of noise, I put it in a room that is empty with the door close.

    Fun STEM project
    My 5 year old is really enjoying this STEM project. We have only finished grit #1 but we can already see a difference. It was fun to compare the stones after the first grit cycle to the before picture. My son was excited to see some colors and patterns coming out that he hadn't seen before. We're going to put everything back in the tumbler with grit #2 and can't wait to see the results.

    Really great
    I'll start off by saying my 9 year old collects rocks, from the lake, school playground, everywhere! So this is great fir her. It came with absolutely everything you need to polish all kinds of rocks. We did put some of the prettier ones in her fish tank. Its not as loud as i thought it was going to be. I do wish it came in other colors but so far its pretty durable. We have used it about 20 times and its still going strong.

    My 8 year old has had hours of fun with this product!! It is so much fun and comes equipped with everything you need to get your little scientist started. You can also buy refill kits of stones and the information is provided in the kit. I recommend this product if your looking for a replacement of all that screen time. They get to a finished product that gives them a since of accomplishment.
