wonderful coffee maker!
Love my Mr. Coffee 12 cup coffee maker. The reason for that is there is no more settings that I have to do just pour the water in and measure the right amount of coffee and you are done. When the electric went out when I had the automatic Mr. coffee , I would have to set the time frequently which was a nusisance. Now with this new Mr. Coffee I never have that problem anymore. plus my coffee comes out perfect every day and taste so good.

Misleading Advertising!
I bought a 12 cup Switch model coffee maker and it does not make 12 cups as advertised. It only makes a little more that half that. When cleaning it for the first use, it only took 4 16.9 oz. bottled waters to completely fill the it to the 12 cup mark. 12 cups is 96 oz. And 4 bottled waters is 67.6 oz. The picture is with 4 bottled waters.

love this little pot! The price is right and we don't need any of the bells and whistles! FYI, for the manufacturer, our old one broke and the rim (the inside clip broke on the handle) getting me in the belly with hot coffee. Maybe reinforce the handle so that it doesn't brake. In all fairness the pot was pretty old.

    Doesn't Last!
The last 1st I purchased lasted approximately 1 year, 2nd one 8 months. This time it lasted 3 months. I do keep mine on for long periods of time. The new reservoir is narrow and easily spills out. With ANY of them, I could only fill a tad above 10 cups with water or it spills out the hole in the back.

    Terrible quality of the beaker
Just bought this recently and with the 1st use, the beaker just gave away. Just placed it on the floor and the glass cracked. Looking at other reviews, looks like its a very cheap quality glass used which gives away soon.

    Poor Design
I have used Mr. Coffee Automatic Drip coffee makers for years. This current basic model is a poorly redesign of a previous model. I echo the other reviews regarding the decanter handle: It is only anchored at one point to the glass decanter body. The decanter handle is noticeably weak right out of the box. While drying the decanter, one has to be extremely careful to avoid breaking the handle and risk being lacerated by broken glass. The decanter lid as currently designed collects condensate on the inside of the lid. When pouring coffee in to a cup from just a few inches away, hot condensate will at times pour out of the decanter on to the skin of the hand holding the cup. This is another poor design and also presents a risk for injury. The hinged cover on the top of the coffee maker body has two molded corners on the inside near the hinge. When the cover is opened after brewing, hot condensate which has collected on the underside of the cover runs down and collects in these molded corners. If the cover is subsequently closed, this pooled liquid will drip down on to either the decanter or the hot plate. There is really nothing positive to say about this current design. The previous version of the Mr. Coffee decanter was for years a functional and problem-free design.

    Cheap but does not last.
Today this coffee pot just stopped working. It lasted 5 months. I was not happy with the latest design due to the fact that you cannot see the water level below 6 cups. I guess you get what you pay for since it was only $19. Going forward I will buy a different brand and better-quality pot.

you get what you pay for
I always thought that Mr coffee was a quality brand so I just needed a bare-bones budget coffee maker to replace mine that finally did the dust. I've had this for about 5 months now and I'm not very happy with it. is this constantly dripping grounds into the coffee pot no matter what I do. I've changed filters, cleaned with white vinegar to descale, try different types of filters and a permanent basket filter. nothing helps. it also spits coffee out and dribbles all over the counter and it doesn't get the coffee as hot as it did when it was brand new. I just looked at the warranty and it is supposedly guaranteed for up to one year. however when I tried to contact the manufacturer it seemed like a big hassle and they would not accept any email address as being a valid email no matter what I tried. it also looks like you have to spend six or seven dollars to return this $18 unit so I'll probably pass on doing that because too much hassle. I would not recommend this product so I would say look for one that is a little more reliable.

    Basic machine, great price!
I use to be able to buy my old Mr. Coffee (Model DW-13) for around $19.99 and it now runs $32 or better. Don't know why as the model I'm reviewing is basically the same machine, with a few exceptions. It doesn't have the dual-view water level windows. It doesn't seem to have the stop-brew feature either, which never really worked on the DW-13s. The other big change (for me) is the lid. It's hinged on the left instead instead of the rear. Major inconvenience for us southpaws. It means I have to pour with my right hand (awkward) or turn the whole machine sideways. Which leads to my second major gripe, the 24" cord. This isn't a new issue, the DW-13s (and other models?) have been sporting these shorty cords for years. Mr. Coffee claims it's a safety feature and I think that's bunk. My machine sits on the counter under the cupboard. My cupboards are 28" deep. So I have to pull the machine out to where I can open the left-hinged lid (grrr!), add filter, coffee and water, shove it back so I can plug it in. Not terribly convenient and I'm embarrassed to admit how many times I've forgotten to insert plug into socket only to come back five minutes later and the machine is just sitting there looking at me. But all the griping aside, it makes decent coffee quickly and for the price I paid ($18.88) I've got to call it a winner. Here's hoping it lasts as long as previous models!

    paint peeling on burner
Paint is peeling on burner. I purchased it about a month ago. Since then, I have used it every morning (with it being on for about two hours) and have never left an empty carafe on the burner when the burner was on. A few days ago, the paint on the burner started peeling. Another negative aspect is that it is difficult to pour water into the reservoir using one's left hand (I am left-handed) I purchased it to use in place of an electronic one with a bunch of controls so that I can control it using Alexa. It works great for that. I set up the coffee maker the night before with the power button on -- and with a smart plug off. In the morning, from my bedroom, I say, "Alexa, coffee on."

    Terrific, inexpensive coffeemaker!
We needed a new coffeemaker. Our old one was a brand-name bells-and-whistles unit for which we paid $80. This Mr Coffee was the perfect replacement. It does not add yet another light-emitting clock to our kitchen, we don't have to pull out a user manual every time we need to change the various features, we're retired so we don't need an auto-on feature and, if it only lasts 1 year, at less than $20 we're still way ahead of the game. It brews quickly, coffee tastes yummy and we can leave it on all day long if we want. (Our old maker shut off automatically after 4 hours). This Mr Coffeemaker fits our lifestyle perfectly!
