Excellent Value for the Price and I Slept Soundly!
As you probably know, the mattress arrived rolled up in a box and plastic wrap. When opened and unfurled, the mattress sprang into shape and virtually instantly flattened out. I had no issues with lowered corners or anything else. Despite the manufacturer's advice (included in the instructions) to give it a day or two to fully expand, it seemed ready for sleeping within minutes. I did sleep on it about 10 hours later. I was looking for a mattress that was firm, but we know everyone has a different definition for that. I used it on a futon frame that includes a wired substructure with springs that the mattress lays on. In the past, I had added a half-inch piece of plywood to the substructure to give my previous mattress firmer support, but I didn't have the plywood anymore and just used this new mattress with the wire substructure below, which is the way the futon was designed to be used. I slept on it for two weeks while I packed up the rest of my house preparing for a cross-country move. Then I slept on it for another week at my new house while I was waiting for my furniture to arrive. I think the Modern Sleep mattress performed great for those three weeks. I had solid support and slept like a baby on it. It sagged just a bit in the middle, so in the future I'll probably get that customized plywood back under it, but again we know that firmness and support are very subjective. Bottom line, the quality of the mattress seemed to be very good, and outstanding for the price. I searched a l-o-o-o-ng time to find a mattress that would combine good value with good performance, and this Modern Sleep mattress did exactly that. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again and recommend it for anyone looking for solid quality at an affordable price. It's not quite a match for my $1,000 queen-size mattress and boxspring, but it's sure not far off. I will welcome guests at my house to sleep on it with high confidence that it will give them a comfortable sleep. Not too firm, yet not too soft and mushy (which would be worst and what I was desperate to avoid). Just an outstanding value overall.

Unfortunate
Unfortunately, very poor quality. After receiving the first defective mattress and reporting that to the company, they regrettably sent a replacement that was in the same manufactured lot and equally as bad in manufacturing quality. On both, the memory foam top was basically non-existent and the springs could be felt through the mattress. Some of the springs actually clang when you put weight on them. It bothers me to have to send two mattresses to take up space in a landfill. I have a terrific "boxed mattress" from a different company, so I know they can be made well. This one just isn't.

Nice Hybrid Mattress and excellent price point
I purchased the Modern Sleep Synergy Mattress Queen size from Walmart.com. It arrived quickly; within 2 days of purchase. The box was very heavy. I could not lift it. I used a dolly to move it into my house. I pulled it out of the box to slide it up the stairs. It is so heavy this was a difficult task. When you open the plastic the mattress begins to unroll and you can see the springs pop, and it blows up almost instantly. It is labelled classic at the foot. Other than that, it looks just like the photos on Walmart.com. There is almost no smell at all. I used additional memory foam on top, as I had back surgery in November 2019. I slept like a baby last night. It is very comfortable, and it was a great buy. I would buy it again.

    Hurts!
I received this as an Easter present from my family a few weeks ago, I do 90% of my shopping online because I lack a vehicle to do so, I would only give it the 1 star because the shipping was great. (only reason) otherwise ZERO! I opened it let it sit for 4 days I had to order sheets for a queen bed. looked great was very excited. I set it up, first night I lasted about 5 hours after waking up all night and went back to my twin size bed. so I waited a few more days and made myself sleep in it all night wrong idea woke up stiff and hurting. I waited a few more days and tried it again and no.. same thing hurting cant make it through the night on it. I have tried a couple more times since then and can not do it, it hurts I toss and turn all night trying to get comfortable it just does not happen. I am average guy 6'3 220 lbs. I have seen some reviews now and wish they would not of bought this cause I cannot take it back. it should be listed as VERY firm! I have went camping with a tent and a 15$ sleeping bag and been more comfortable than this I'm sorry. and the the zippered cover can be removed and is washable with mild detergent in cold water. Tumble dry on lowest setting saw this in the pamphlet was not there does that make a difference? my overall review would be DO NOT buy this unless you want a very firm mattress like you are sleeping on the floor with a piece or cardboard under you! and on top of all that I have a mattress pad, a fitted sheet, a top sheet, a blanket and a comforter on it as well trying to get it better. did not work.

    a springy bounce...
When I arrived to my home, there was a 6 foot box laying in my carport. I knew what it was from the markings on the box "Classic ". After opening the box and sliding out the tightly plastic vacuumed sealed mattress, I position the mattress and cut the plastic wrap "carefully" and it started to expand immediately. The springs/coil's start expanding," popping " and setting into place as the mattress rises. It doesn't last long before the popping of the springs is over. I then pushed on the mattress to further loosen any spring's that "didn't set into place", and sure enough, some still "popped". There was hardly NO smell from the manufacturing process, so that was a good thing. I'm wondering if this will hold up due to a thin slab of memory foam, on top of the "tempered Bonnell steel coils"? I was not to thrilled of seeing/feeling such a thin piece of pillow top/memory foam on top of spring coil's??? First thing I think of, is a "coil, or coil's" , springing up thru the memory foam.... Only time will tell with this mattress. After a few hours it had expanded to it's almost 9 inch level, and upon laying on this mattress I wondered where is the pillow top? but it was comfortable and firm, but that's how I like it, but I know after sleeping on previous steel coils mattresses, they will eventually start to give. I'm giving this a day to expand and settle before sleeping on...... Okay, the first night on the bed was comfortable, a soft, firm but springy feel but a good night's sleep. I just hope this continues to stay this way.

It's like sleeping on firm but plush pillows.
The Modern Sleep Synergy Memory Foam and Innerspring Hybrid 9-Inch Pillow Top Mattress is an awesome mattress. I received the mattress in a long box an it came with an instruction pamphlet on how to prepare the mattress for use. All we had to do is put the mattress while it was still in the plastic on top of the box spring an release. An it just unrolled into place, then all I had to do was let in regain its shape from being compressed in the box. The instructions were to allow the mattress to regain it shape over 24- 72 hours but I honestly only waited 4 hours an my mattress was fine. Also their was a slight smell which is mentioned in the instruction booklet. All you have to do is let the mattress air out for a couple of days. To me the smell was so light it didn't both me at all an in a few days it was completely gone. Sleeping on this mattress is like sleeping on top of firm but plush pillows. I got mine in a queen size and after it expanded it is true to size. Their are springs inside the mattress but I didn't feel or hear them after the mattress had regained its shape. This mattress gives my body even support from head to toe. Now I am able to have some of the best sleep I have had in years.

    Floor is softer
I let the mattress to supposedly fluff up for over a week. This is the hardest, most uncomfortable mattress I have ever seen. Not just the mattress being so hard the springs squeak with every movement. My dog, who often sleeps on the floor with just a rug, tossed and turned and finally went back to the floor. I have purchased two of the thickest mattress pads I could afford only then was it at least tolerable. I believe it would feel the same if I just used the pads on the floor. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

    Pillow Top Mattress
When I received the mattress it was rolled up in plastic. You cut the plastic and the mattress unroll itself. This concept makes it easier to ship and handle when putting it on a boxspring. When you lay on the mattress it is very comfortable, and I sleep well on it. It is comfortable for my back. I wish there was just a little more pillow top on it, but other than that it is a great mattress. The mattress is made well and good quality material.

    Really nice, good quality mattress.
This review is for the Modern Sleep Synergy Memory Foam and Innerspring Hybrid 9-Inch Pillow Top Mattress. This is a great quality mattress that I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice firm mattress. This is so much nicer than my old mattress. I really like the combination of memory foam and coils. The coils provide good support while the memory foam gives some cushion. My sciatic nerve needs the extra support at night or I wake up with it acting up like crazy. Since it is firm it took getting use to. Laying on it there isn't any give to it at all, like when you just sit on it. It's not hard as a rock by any means, just more firm than medium firm. My old mattress was soft but it also sagged too much so being firm is a good thing. Being use to a softer mattress I didn't sleep well the first night but after getting use to it now I'm sleeping pretty darn good. When this first came it was rolled up, wrapped in plastic, and compressed. It weighs about 66 pounds so I had help getting it up on the bed frame. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Just cut the plastic to unroll it and let it inflate. There was a very slight odor at first but it only lasted a few hours. It says to allow 24 to 72 hours for it to reach it's full shape but it was pretty much ready to sleep on within 24 hours. The mattress is beautiful. It's very rich looking and is a good quality, seems well made. It's white with gray trim and has a nice pattern running across it that adds to it's appearance. The instructions said that it has a removable cover but I hunted and hunted but just couldn't find anywhere that it unzipped or anything so I guess that must be for another model or something? Or maybe I did just miss it? It also states to prevent sagging that it's best to use this mattress on a firm surface, not a coiled box spring. I'm using a metal frame made for mattresses without the box springs. The tag says the material consists of 100 percent polyurethane foam, and bonnell spring steel coil.
