Really thick and comfortable. Removable covers!
We really like this: we sit it atop a foldout cot (mattress)...so that you can't feel the metal bars of the cot frame.

The mattress is actually 4 inch!! And so comfortable definitely worth it! Initially I go the single size and return it cause it was to small for an adult size so then I got a twin size which is way much bigger.
