Look Elsewhere!!! Low Quality, Confusing TO USE... Also NOT ALL FEATURES WORK AS ADVERTISED
I have a 10 dollar harbor freight meter that I like more than this one. The meter does not measure in the clamp only! The light does not stay on for longer than 6 seconds and to turn it back on you have to hold the button for 2 seconds to get it back on for another 6 seconds. and this only lights the display not the light in the clamp. The clamp light does not work. The clamp is only to hold the device not anything else!!! I dont know if its the tester cables or not but it runs wild and even after zeroing it out the resistance just keeps going up even when not touching anything. Look elsewhere no bueno!

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/05/2020Helped me test and improive home A/C performanceI used the meter to test the amperage on my home A/C. It had failed to start the other day and after a little cool down it restarted. I had an A/C repairman check it and he said it was in-specs but noted it was using a lot of the max LRA amperage to start. He said since it was 103 degree day, its possible the compressor went into a heat protection mode and failed to start. He asked if the lights flicker when my A/C starts and I confirmed it always does. He recommended adding a hard-start kit to give the compressor a little boost to help it start. He siad he waould charge me $300 for the kit and 30 minutes labor. He said I could probably do it myself after recognizing that had some basic mechanical competence. He said it would by under $100 for me to DIY. He also recommended getting a clamp meter. I was able to order kit and meter for under $80. He quickly showed me the basics before he left. I ordered this meter and the 5-2-1 Hard start kit for my 4 ton A/C. I was able to test that my inrush amperage was 98A vs the max 104A LRA (locked rotor amperage)spec found on the side of the unit. I gather LRA means the compressor rotor is completely stopped. So it took 94% of the max amperage to start the A/C compressor. After I installed the hard start kit, I have the readings shown in the picture. The max inrush amperage was now 52.6 A or only 51% of the max LRA. That was a huge difference! Also, the lights did NOT flicker when a/c turned on. Very satisfied with the meter. The instruction manual on the other hand was extremely basic. Its 3/4" thick because it has the same instructions in 4-5 languages. The type is super small. Also the instructions are badly written. Obviously translated from Chinese literally and only pictures just points out the position and briefest description of the function. Overall, its a nice to have meter for easily testing amperage. If you are familiar with multimeters then you will figure out the basics.A. Alcala

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/25/2020Poor instructionsMeter looks nice and came in a nice box with a descent pouch. That's the good part. The bad.... The meter leads are hard to insert into the meter. The meter is not very accurate. The instruction came in several languages but could not make sense of the wording. Was not able to get the forward facing led to turn on. Only good thing was continuity tester was good and had a audible selection. Giving it to my son to learn and play with it. Not going in my tool box. You get what you pay for and will be buying a better more expensive meter.Jose m.

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/31/2020Best meter for hvac technicianThis a great meter and it’s better than the field piece sc220 which doesn’t read capacitors and cost twice as much. Meterk is everything I need to do hvac. Definitely buy an extra set of probe leads tho bc they don’t hold up. It’s been 3 months and I’ve already have to replace themRichie Dorris

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/05/2020GREAT HVAC MULTIMETER!GREAT MULTIMETER! ESPECIALLY FOR SOMEONE STARTING IN HVAC. I'm a HVAC technician, I have all the name brand meters, fluke, fieldpiece, uei, klien, etc. but I wanted something cheap that can test everything we need in a HVAC multimeter, it feels great, it works perfectly. Microfarad UF readings are exactly on point, temp works good, ampmeter works perfect, reads voltage perfect, etc. If your starting in HVAC you definetley should get this meter, especially for the price! It compares identical to my name brand ones, you might want to get better leads/probes, but the ones that come with it are still great. Only downfall is the manual is horrible, but if you know how to use a meter you shouldnt even need the manual. The top light only works when checking amps, and the backlight works on every function, just hold the "hold" button down for 2 seconds. And change the setting for temp, ohms/capacitance, or voltage depending on your needs.Alyssa Gordon

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/26/2020Would likely not buy againI cannot yet say how well this unit works and I have to say that I am not a professional electrician. I simply wanted a decent clamp meter for use around my home. This unit looks and feels nice, bit my chief complaint is the manual. If you are looking for a well-written, easy to understand manual, you can forget it. This manual is written in such broken english that it renders the manual basically useless and for someone who would need to find his way around by using the manual, it renders the unit much less desirable or usable. If you are like I am and must rely on a manual, you should consider a different unit in my opinion.Philip Maher

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/28/2019Good meter for the priceWas looking into a cheap meter so I wouldn’t always have to use my fluke meter due to recently leaving it on job sites, don’t ask how/why I did. Tried a variety of cheap meters and this one was the best one. It is easy to use and gets good reading, it’s not a fluke but it is a good meter. Used multiple functions with no issues and able to do what I ask of it.Shawn
