Let your little ones creativity shine!
The Made By Me My Very Own Pottery Wheel with Terra-cotta Clay is my little ones new favorite project. Now this product is recommended for kids at least 6 years or older and my 7 year old couldn't resist with help from me of course. The Made By Me Pottery Wheel comes with literally everything you need except the size D batteries that it requires because it is motorized which is a feature that I was happy about. 2 pounds of terra-cotta clay comes included so that you and your little one can can start from scratch which indeed means mixing the clay. Now this process does get a little messy so I do recommend putting down a plastic table cloth or something similar to help avoid to big of a mess. The clay is also air dry clay so no baking at all is required. It was amazing watching my little one mold and sculpt the clay and she had so much fun doing it. Her favorite part of using the actual wheel was the speed. She was happy it didn't go to fast. Overall she enjoyed decorating her creation at the end with the ceramic paint that came with it. This Made By Me Pottery Wheel is a great idea for anyone trying to tap in to their little ones creative side. I give it 5 stars and so does she!

Way better then what I expected from it! AWESOME
It honestly did way better than what I expected. For pottery and it being a toy! For example I thought maybe when you're shaping the clay the wheel would slow down, or lose momentum. But it DOESNT. It's consistent speed.

    makes kids use their imagination
this is a great item that makes your child use their imagination. Gives them hands on how to make an item, change it, remake it. This comes with everything needed to make any item from start to finish. There is enough clay to make 4 items, give or take, depending on how much clay you use on each item. This gives you child a great sense of pride, knowing they have created something from just a little ball of clay.

    Brings Back Memories
The Made By Me My Very Own Pottery Wheel is actually a very cool craft kit for boys or girls. It is definitely not like what I remember from art class in high school, though. But, that isn't a bad thing. This kit comes with 2lbs of terracotta clay, plastic tools, paint, everything you need to make your own pottery except water. The instructions are pretty good, but it would be good to read through them several times with your child so that you both have an idea of what you need to do. We set up the wheel and got out the clay. It put foil down to prevent spills and to protect our table. My 11yo son worked the clay until we didn't see any air pockets. He then got his hands wet and molded the clay into a ball. He placed the ball on the wheel and then formed a hole with his fingers and made a basic pot. He got his hands wet again, and then started to shape the pot while the wheel turned. You can either flip the switch so the wheel turns continuously, or you can use the foot pedal to turn it on and off like a sewing machine. My son definitely need to practice with the clay as he had some trouble with making the pot even. He had to restart the pot several times, but because he was having so much fun he didn't get frustrated at all. The wheel does not turn that fast, but it does turn fast enough that you can work with the pot.:) Once he was done shapeing the pot, we left it on the wheel to dry out a little, then used the cord provided to cut the pot off the wheel. After completely drying, it is ready for painting. This kit comes with enough clay to make 4 projects. This was an amazing rainy day project for us. My son had an awesome time playing with the kit.:)

    Too hard for a kid
My daughter was excited to get this pottery wheel since it's something she always wanted to do. But she couldn't even soften up the clay to be able to mold it. We followed instructions but the clay was too hard. Once I got it on the wheel for her the machine wasn't really strong enough to spin it very well. Disappointed that this didn't work.

    Good product!
My daughter loves crafts, so we tried this product. It works well, but needs a little more power. She loves the foot pedal to control the wheel. The clay doesn't stay put on the wheel when she pushes down on it. But it does run with batteries instead of a plug in. This is a very easy craft and she enjoyed making her bowl. She will be able to paint it today or tomorrow when it is dry!

    Pottery wheel
The made by me pottery wheel comes with everything you need for beginning pottery , except the four D batteries. The clay is a little dry so water needs to be added to get it to the right consistency. Overall , this is a fair wheel that would be good for children over ten. If using this with younger children an adult needs to help work the lumps out of the clay and supervise the rest of the project.

    No Adapter Included
It would have been nice if there was an adapter included instead of batteries only. Other than that, this pottery wheel provides a relaxing and engaging classroom/home activity for parents/educators and kids.

    Fun clay only
My kids liked playing and building with the terra cotta clay with their hands. The wheel didn't work too well, it would get stuck and was very messy. The clay requires that my kids wet their hands and the clay in order to have a smoother surface to work with. It got messy fast. There was wet clay everywhere. The wheel ended up not being used because it just didn't have enough torque. After attempting to use the tools that were included, my kids gave up on the wheel and tools. They ended up just creating with their hands instead. Overall it was a fun process but didn't find any of the equipment necessary.
