Lifetime 28 qt cooler Review
After reading reviews on the more expensive coolers decided to get this one for the price. It's great. Picked it up and loaded with beer. Ice was still in there 3 days. This was the recommended precool. Then put 12 bottle waters in it. Filled with 20 lbs ice. It will hold more water but then less ice. I use it on my work van in Florida. 94 degrees outside. Temp in van well over 100. 4 days later and water cold but little ice. Drained and refilled cooler. This is satisfactory for me as my old cooler melted all ice in 1 day. It says 5 days of ice but ... that's not a full cooler of ice left. It melts. Lol. I have no question I would have a cup or 2 of ice in the cooler on day 5 in a shaded somewhat cooler environment. The only minor negative on the 28 qt cooler is no drain. It's not a giant heavy cooler so its manageable but if it's a dailey use cooler a drain would be nice. I believe there 2 larger coolers have drains. It's also made in USA and has a 5 year warranty. ( It's a lifetime cooler so ask them about it. Haha) Bottom line...if you want to spend 3 times as much for "maybe" 1 more day of ice, go for it. The 28 qt Lifetime cooler has got to be the best out there for the price. Oh yea, you can lock it, great handle, gasket seal on lid that does not leak if tipped over, you can sit on it. Picture is day 3 in my truck after adding 6 more bottles of water. Day 1 was 12 bottles of room temp water with ice to top. It is recommended to put cold items in. ie. Refrigerate water first for longest ice lasting. I get free ice so I don't care.

Not worth the money
We purchased this cooler for vacation trip for food So it was inside the car with AC running For 13 hour drive lid shut latches shut when we got to the condo we only had a small amount of ice in the cooler mostly water We also had a Coleman cooler with ice snacks and drinks The Coleman still had a lot of ice and the lid was open several time for snacks and drinks In our opinion save your money buy a Coleman

    Great Purchase
Nice and sturdy. Very well made. Just as described. Really like the closure straps which are very easy to use. Can easily open and close with only one hand. Color was exactly as pictured (jay blue). Ice held up well in cooler for about 4 days and that was without pre chilling the cooler as recommended (because I needed it right away) and with it being outside a full day before bringing it inside. Still has ice 4 days later. I think the ice will last even longer if I pre chill the cooler next time. Only improvement I would make to it would be handles on the sides for 2 people to carry however it can be carried by 2 people with the top handle which is also very sturdy like the cooler. Overall a great cooler which I think will last for a lot of years to come. Very happy with this purchase.

Doesn't hold ice as long as it claims
Cooled off the cooler and drinks with ice, in the house prior. Then added ice and drinks on day of being outside. Ice did not hold for more than 6hrs in 98° weather. Water stayed cold so that helped. Wish ice really stayed at least 1day, since it's 5 days they claim. Also very clunky/heavy for a small cooler.

I have both the 28 and 55 quart. The 28 doesn't appear to work as well at its larger options, but it great for a short trip. Holds frozen food/ice in direct sun in the summer for over 36 hours. Probably not as great a described as far as trying to get you to buy it, but it does work well. They are pretty heavy duty for a cooler, appears built well and they are MADE IN THE USA!

    Catch a clue
I am a UPS driver and I love this product. If it falls over it doesn't leak keeps ice for up to five days in the back of 120° truck. It's awesome I love it totally recommend it less than half the price of other coolers like it

    No ice retention
I bought this last week for bear proof and stated 5 day ice retention. On our way west for camping and fhe first day ice was melted. We added more ice in ziplock baggies, because the first time our food was ruined. Again, ice melted with water soaked food. Can not imagine if we took it on a summertime camping trip. The item is advertised 5 day ice retention, since the cooler did not hold one day, I am returning the product. Also, i dont believe it being bear proof ans we arw headed for big bear country. Very disappointed in this product.

    Durability
the ice chest is durable and is well isolated, but the latch needs redesigning. The blue injection molded latch doesn't have enough strength to hold up to the job.

Ice Lasts longer than Competitors Coolers
This cooler does better than it's competitors at more than half the price. I took this cooler out on a 100° day. It sat outside for about 4 hours. Brought it home and put it in the kitchen to unload. 3 days later, I opened the cooler and there was still ice. Fast forward to the next week, I took my other high end cooler (starts with Y and ends in eti) to the same location on a cooler day 92° and after two hours the ice had all melted. I spent more than double on the “Other” cooler and was shocked at the performance of the “other” cooler. I have the larger capacity Lifetime Cooler as well and it goes days before the ice completely melts. Picture is 3 days after being out in 100° temps for several hours and then sitting in my kitchen.
