Great water pitcher
I received the LifeStraw water filter pitcher a few weeks ago. First off in the box you receive the pitcher and filter housing with a easy fill lid, A LifeStraw membrane micofilter, and LifeStraw activated carbon + ion exchange filter. Plus instructions on how to use, and a thank you letter. The pitcher is 11.2 by 6.4 inches. It's BPA free. And the amount of liquid it holds is 7 cups. It's kind off tall and I could not fit in my refrigerator at home without moving a shelf. Would probably work in your refrigerator had a half shelf. The first time you use the pitcher you need to wash the pitcher with a mild detergent and rinse the other components with just water. Then rinse the carbon + ion exchange filter and place into filter housing. The filter is real easy to install. You just place in filter housing on bottom and push bottom cap on. You then run a full batch of water through pitcher and discard the water. It is ready to use after that. It's very slow to fill at first. According to instructions it says the flow rate will Improve after first 3-4 batches as air is displaced from filters. It took me over 20 minutes the first time. The water goes through the lifestraw membrane and carbon filter and comes through a small hole at bottom of filter housing. But as time went on it got down to 10-15 minutes. It all depends on how consistent you are with filling the filter housing tube with water. You can only fill to top of filter housing tube and then you have to wait for it to go down a bit to add more water. The filter housing tube holds 3 cups of water at one time. It says that if nonuse of 2 weeks or longer to discard water and clean pitcher with mild detergent and only rinse the filter housing. Fill and discard first batch again. If non use longer than two months they recommend you replace the carbon filter with a new one and do the steps as you did the first time you used the pitcher. The lifestraw membrane lasts up to 1 year and the carbon filters last 2 months according to box. I found the water to have a clean fresh taste. I just feel that the time it takes to fill the pitcher is a bit long. I wish you could fill the whole thing at once.

PROBLEMATIC
This is the new replacement pitcher that we recently received, as the originally purchased pitcher cracked and leaked. Now this replacement pitcher is already cracking around the base and beginning to leak. We use this all 24/7 as our water is problematic, however, we are not rough with it. Just regular use. This is such a disappointment. Please contact me to discuss these issues and get a refund. Maybe the small glass pitcher would be better?

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/17/2021Good, but very slow…We like the filtering system & understand that it filters a lot out of our water. But, it is very slow. The literature says it gets quicker as it filters, but sometimes we use the water faster than we can filter it. Would like to learn how to filter quicker. The picture is after about 20 minutes.Richard G.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/05/2021Photo says it all. Will also be buying a lifestraw to drink water whenever I'm out the house now. I'm appalled I was drinking from a Brits before. I cleaned the housing weekly and timely replaced the filters. Look at this differenceNotpoisoned

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/04/2020This is plastic! Not glass like it states!Just received in the mail from Lifestraw and it is absolutely not a glass pitcher! It's supposedly a BPA-free plastic. I expected glass. This should be half the price it is. Disappointed for sure!JoJB

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/04/2019Enjoyable to Use, and Water Tastes GreatWe have been using our LifeStraw Home pitcher for several weeks now, and I enjoy using it so much more than our old Pur pitcher. The filter lid flips open and closes depending on the flow of water coming in, so I don't have to ever remove the lid for filling. The pitcher is a nice size and is easy to handle and pour. For our family of five, we probably should have a larger sizes pitcher, but we try to refill after most uses, so this size has worked fine for us. I only give the four stars because I can't find any independent lab testing on this pitcher, and because it doesn't remove as many chemicals in the water as other filters on the market.Julia

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/25/2019Good, but overall would be better if.....I purchased this earlier this month and the filtration is phenomenal. My only issue is that my mom does not like her water cold, so she would prefer to leave it on the counter.... but due to the spout opening it leaves the water vulnerable to being contaminated with insects. Yes even while in the house. My mom has a dog she lets out throughout the day and flying insects do fly inside the house. Also, during nice days if we want to spend time outside with family we may want to bring the picture outside. Having a cover or top for the Lifestraw Home would be perfect!!!Nisha
