Loving Violet
My niece absolutely loves her Violet. When I set it up and she heard her name for the first she was awe-struck. She enjoys playing with Violet and sleep time has become a lot easier. She knows when Violet yawns and starts playing music is it time for rest.

    Excellent learning tool!
    Purchased Violet for my granddaughter after seeing how much my grandson loved Scout! Great learning tool! Love that you can program the child's name into the puppy. Grabs young child's attention. Very happy with my purchase!

    Worth the money!
    Children love the fact that this Vtech Dog in either Scout or Violet because it sings THEIR NAME. It personalizes things and the kids enjoy all the phrases and songs.

    looks weird. works great
    just like it says, it can say the child's name (you can even edit the prunounciation). It also makes up several songs that incorporate the baby's name, it's spelling, and baby's favorite things. only down side is that it's face looks a little.... unnatural. if it didn't look so strange I would have given 5 stars

    Nice interactive soft pet!
    My little one and 1/2 year old granddaughter will love this. I bought the violet pal. She loves to listen to music and loves to cuddle and loves to interact with anything with buttons or sound. I think she will love this for Christmas and take it to bed with her. She will be surprised when Violet says her name!

    This Violet was easier to program than the Scout I bought 3 years ago. I'm not sure if the difference is in the toy or the timespan (probably timespan), but instead of coming with a separate usb cord to connect to computer and software to download to program the name/songs, this Violet has a 3.5 mm jack (a headphone jack) attached in the battery compartment to plug into either computer or phone. You start by going to a website, answering few questions, plug it in, and you are good to go. It didn't give an option to choose your songs during the initial setup, and I haven't attempted to change them yet. They did change the sleep timers from 2, 5, and 10 minutes to 5, 10, and 15 minute options, which I like. Each paw is a different category: sayings/"games", playtime songs, and nighttime songs, with on foot being on/off (though pressing any paw will turn on). There is a true off switch on the battery compartment to render it silent, which is also a volume option (high or low). My daughter loves it, and that's the best part!

    the only toy my daughter uses EVERY day
    My daughter got this for her first birthday and she loves the songs and the cute things Violet says. She's two now and won't go to sleep without Violet's lullaby songs- usually 10 minutes, not 5 min or 2 min (which are the options). This purchase was a gift for my niece's Christmas gift because she fell in love with it when my daughter brought it over for their sleep over. Now she can hear it say her name. Oh, and the batteries last a long time without having to replace!

    I purchased Violet for my one year old granddaughter. I am impressed at how simple it was to hook up to the computer and download her name, favorite food and color and I liked that I could pick out daytime songs and nighttime songs to download. It only took a minute. My granddaughters name is Jacki and Violet says her name very clearly and uses it often. She will get this for Christmas and I am sure she will love it. I think her sisters will also. I know I do.
