Delicious marinade, a welcome surprise!
We generally use Soy Vey Island Teriyaki and while on a trip to New Orleans we couldn't find our usual so went with this for a backup. It's delicious! Saltier than that teriyaki we're used to but amazing on chicken! We marinated it for about 24 hours and then grilled on a charcoal grill. Loved it so much we bought some for our pantry when we got home.

Bitter
It is so bitter. I accidently bought the wrong one and ruined an entire dish. It doesn't taste like any teriyaki I've ever had. Could maybe be saved by mixing in honey. But if I'm doing that I might as well use the Kikkoman one.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/05/2021Great SauceThis is great teriyaki sauce. I use it when I make homemade ground beef jerky. I also love the fact that unlike all the others it doesn't have high fructose corn syrup or MSG. I have Fibromyalgia and those ingredients affects me in a negative way so I check the ingredients of my food carefully. I was so happy when I found this sauce.Velvet

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/12/2021Make your own - so easy. For bottled marinade, this is my favorite - it's the real pineapple juice, it breaks anything down. I don't look at the other ingredients, though. I only used when I was in a rush as homemade teriyaki sauce is so easy to make w/o all those hard-to-pronounce additives seen on the labels.Kathryn

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/16/2018Little touch of sweetnessI used this to marinade fresh shrimp to add to an Asian dish. The marinade stood apart from the vegetables and noodles. I think I would use it with a different recipe next time so i could isolate the taste. My sister loved the texture of the marinade. She remarked how smooth and silky the texture was in comparison to other watery marinades [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]YiaYiaV

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/26/2018Fabulous flavors not just for meat!Yes, I love Teriyaki flavored meat and this is a delicious marinade. But you also may try it when you saute veggies for fried rice. My newest experiment was to use it with carrots, celery, and broccoli as an addition to my Teriyaki noodle soup. It adds just the right flavors. Excellent marinade and it saves you from having to mix the sauce ingredients for meat, veggies, soup and rice! 3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/22/2018Grilled ChickenI grilled chicken breasts with this at home two nights ago and wasn't impressed. While the marinade was easy since it was ready to go, the flavor just didn't add up. I thought it was a bit too salty and didn't have enough fruity pineapple pop to it. The positive part is that chicken breasts tend to dry out easily and this marinade kept them juicy which helps with the longer grill time required. I put them around the outer edges of the heat so they wouldn't cook/dry out so fast. I have enough after one meal to try it with something else so I'm thinking maybe marinate some plain burgers or even pork chops would be worth a try! 4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/18/2018PerfectTried today and was delicious. Used my grill pan and cooked chicken, then added veggies. I added some of the marinade to vegies which enhanced the flavor. Wish there was little more pineapple flavor, but I definitely will be buying more [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]Deb60s

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/18/2018Pineapple flavorI marinaded chicken breasts in this sauce for about 4 hours, then oven roasted them along with fresh pineapple slices. The sauce is very thick and did not penetrate the chicken as a thinner marinade would. Perhaps using this product as a glaze, even with ribs or pork chops, would work better. 4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/17/2018A Little SweetI decided to use this marinade for some grilled shrimp. I figured the citrusy pineapple would work really well with seafood. I only marinated the shrimp for 30 minutes and I really wish I did it longer. The shrimp didn't really retain any of the marinade when I grilled them. I end up using the marinade as a dipping sauce to get some more of the flavor on the cooked shrimp. The marinade itself is pretty good. Basically a soy sauce with pineapple and some spices. My only qualm is that I found it a little too sweet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]Chelsea
