Extremely disappointed
Highly disappointed!
The AC is refurbished which was not mention on the website prior to purchases. Also no where on the owner's manual book or box does it say the BTU of the AC. I know it says 11,500 on the website but I need to see it on paper or the box. For all I know this ac is prob 8000 btu. I'm a little surprised because I trusted Walmart I never had this kind of issue. I will be returning for a full refund not interested in keeping it at least. Would never paid such a high price for a refurbished item. After careful inspection i realize the ac has some superficial damage as well. No thank you.

In energy saving mode the unit will shut down when the temp is reached. That's good. Less good is that the fan will turn on every 3 or so minutes to check the air. This creates unwanted noise. When cooling is again needed the compressor and fan start again and the cycle is repeated. Why the fan is needed for the sensor to check the ambient air is a mystery to me . Other then that all is well and the unit does a good job of cooling.HoHo37

I didn't realize that there was even a valve to control the intake of outside air to cool. You learn something new everyday as they say.JenMatAC

The fan was obviously grinding on something and wouldn't turn on its own. Since it was beyond any kind of warranty I bought a second exact same unit thinking my odds were better. Nope. Second one short cycles and won't stay on cool. I have owned other lg products and was happy with them but.. no more.skylerk01

We were extremely happy with purchase. Easy to install, my husband did it. Quiet, 3 speeds, cooled entire family room and living room. Area of approx. 18ft x 30 ft. I replaced my previous unit which lasted about 4 yrs with this one. I've noticed that the compressor on this one makes more noise. It was also the largest BTU that I could find for what I needed. It does cool but if left on energy saver shuts off before the room hits the set temp. It was decent priced for a sleeve AC.Jolynn68

The unit performed like a champ, keeping us cool and comfortable in a space of approximately 400 sq. ft. So far I have tried the Cool Mode, Energy Saver Mode and the Dry Mode. All work as advertised. The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I was expecting the unit to be a little quieter. It's not so noisy as to keep me awake at night but I would not describe it as quiet. All in all, I am pleased so far. We used a through the wall LG sleeve to install the unit. I'm not sure how we would have gotten the AC unit installed if we had followed the directions verbatim. The unit kept dislodging the foam that was supposed to seal the gaps. It worked better to insert the unit in the sleeve and then stuff the foam in the gaps to seal it up.namhel

It puts out cold for sure. We purchased the sleeve and coil cover extra. We had to make sure the unit tipped away from the front. Some shims did the job. We got it in place, finished off and sealed everything. We plugged it in and yee Haa. It handles 500 sq ft easily. We had it shipped to store to avoid any issues. No problems there. It is a nice ac that has more than enough giddy up for our needs. Thank you LG!Virginia in AZ
