I purchased this a/c uniton June 5, it took til June 17 for it to be delivered but understandable d/t the current climate. I was pleased with it until July 10. The unit was making a low humming sound. I contacted LG they walked me through several reset attempts to no avail. The agent said he put in a service call but no one called. I also searched on LG's site for service centers in my area but didn't find one. So I put in a service call online. I advised the LG agent online that were no service center near me. On Thursday, July 21 I received a text that stated there are no available service technicians in my area. Finally admitting defeat I returned the unit. I was hoping this LG product would be better than my last experience it was not.

    Short life
    It has been almost exactly a year sonce we bought this unit and we're already looking to replace it as it is not putting out the type of cold air it once did. We cleaned the filters and while it's been very hot lately i feel as if it should be performing much better than it is. Disappointed that its 10k BTU yet we're sweating in our bedroom even at night.

    So glad I bought it my old AC was only 5000BTUs and it wasn't doing the job like it used to, and I live in a studio apartment so this new unit comes in handy because my apartment faces the sun and every morning during the summer months you can feel the heat beating on the windows as the sun comes up in the morning so you can imagine how annoying that can be so im definitely happy wtih my purchase thank you .

    Worst nightmare.
    this air conditioner worked great for the first 7 months. then stopped pushing out cool air. call lg to replace i have bern waiting 2 months now and they still have yet to replace. its a joke. beware when buying cause if it goes out under manufacture warrent you have to deal with them even if you got the warranty fro. walmart like i did.

    Great size for a 20x25 room!
    I love this air conditioner. Be prepared to assemble the casing into the window first and then the compressor. It's not hard it's just heavy and you will probably need assistance. But despite that this air conditioner saved me and my pets. The remote makes it easy to adjust the temperature and by using it on energy saver mode it has saved me electricity!

    Very heavy if you plan to use only temporarily
    I never unpacked this from the box, so I cannot comment on it's performance. I just needed an air conditioner for a couple of months in the summer that could be easily removed, stored, mounted, etc.... This was not it. This thing is mammoth and at 74ish lbs was not something I wanted to deal with moving back and forth. I returned it, and will look for a smalller (even if underpowered) unit.

    Excellent AC unit
    This AC unit took us about 2 hours to install. This is probably on the high end, but we had to cut about a quarter inch off the exterior trim to get it to fit. The instructions were easy to read and easy to follow. The English instruction's spelling and grammar were were correct, which helps a lot. Far better than most manuals. The actual installation began with removing 4 screws to sperate the unit from its housing. Four more screws were used to install the mounting anchor bracket/jack screws assembly. Then we used a level to check the backward slope to ensure proper condensation drainage. Next we placed the main unit inside the housing and put the four screws back in to secure in place. After that, we installed the front panel and the unit worked well. Issues : The front panel is tricky to install. There are cutaway ways for the chords to sit in, but it is tricky to get them to align with the chords. The chords are stiff, not pre-bent to fit the ways, and seem to have a mind of their own. This part of the installation was the hardest part and isn't covered very well in the manual. We had to hold them in place with a stick as we closed it in a clamshell fashion from the panel side. The front panel itself could use some better hold down tabs. They have just enough robustness to hold the panel in place, but not a bit more. This unit works well in our 14'x15'x10' room with two high end desk top computers (they can warm the room like 600 watt space heaters). Our 5000 BTU Media unit just couldn't keep up with the 100 degree heat wave in the humid Midwest. So we bought this 10,000 LG unit and it has no problems keeping the room at 68. It runs comparatively quiet and isn't running constantly. The remote is pretty basic with buttons to adjust the mode, fan speed, timer and toggle the unit On/Off. It doesn't have an LCD or any other display to provide information feedback. That can be a pro or a con depending on what is important to you. Overall, I love this AC unit. It is a great product and has exceeded my expectations.

    Does what it's made to do.
    It's a big boy first and foremost. It took some wiggling but I got it to fit. First you have to mount the outer shell then slide the inner AC inside it. It cools my room in less than 20 minutes(It's 100 outside these days) It's quiet and does it's job to keep me cool this summer. P.S. my original AC was a 6000BTU unit.

    Not a bad unit for the price.
    Keeps my room as cool as I like it. No problems in that area. As far as the noise I would say it's about average for a window unit. Not terribly loud but if your a light sleeper you might have an issue. The only thing I dislike about this unit is sometimes when you have it on energy mode it sometimes goes on and off constantly. It will go on for 30 seconds then off again and 30 seconds later on again. Seems crazy to me to kick on for 20 seconds. I don't know if I got a bad one or if they all do that. Remote works well, I like being able to adjust the temp from my bed.

    Glad I purchased it.
    its only been 6 days since it was installed. It has been too cold to turn on but we tried it out for a few minutes and its seem to run fine. very quiet and very easy to install. Fit our hole in the wall perfect. The opening measured 15" H and 23" W. That is what the ac measured also. Fit perfectly. So far I am Pleased.
