Walmart sent wet box
The product was fine - but the box had water damage. And is impossible to contact someone to help.

    Long overdue!
Not the easiest Lego set I ever assembled, but the cool factor alone makes it a no brainer for the Adam West/TV Batman fan, and it was a fun father and son build. It's clearly made more for displaying than playing, but it is designed to be a fully functional, rolling, stud-firing action toy with batman and joker mini-figures and a couple of accessories for them. The display stand w/plaque is cool, allowing the car to be rotated to any angle, and it makes a nice companion piece to the Batman's Cowl set, which also has a display base with a similar plaque. Follow up sets of all the other vehicles from the show, perhaps given a more detailed treatment than the ones that came with the Batcave/Wayne Manor set, would be a welcome addition too.

Speed Champion lovers will love this
Yes! That's correct. The scale of this Batmobile, with a real life 18.5 feet, is true to the common scale of all Speed Champion sets. It is fun to build, a beautiful replica of the 1966 Batmobile, invoking memories of slanted camera angles, POW! BAM! BANG! The only missing addition that the designer should done was a blazing fire from the tail, and LEGO makes several. I used 85959px1, which is huge, but after trying many smaller flames, I liked this one best. See my pics.

    To the bat-review!
I love this set. I watched the series while building it for an extra meta experience and it was so much fun. First of all, the Joker may be my favorite minifigure ever. The painted-over mustache is something I've loved since I was a little kid, I dressed as Romero Joker for Halloween a few years ago and wore a fake mustache and painted over it, so to see it in minifig form is literally the BEST. The Batman one is terrific, too. And the Batmobile itself was a great build! It was different than other vehicles I've built so I appreciated the different techniques utilized here. If I had to find one complaint, it would have been so much cooler to gave some kind of mechanism that shoots a grappling hook out or even a parachute, or both, but now I'm getting greedy. It looks great, the display is cool and together, all of it makes me very happy. I would loooove to get a similarly sized Burton Batmobile one day. That would be pretty bonkers.

    Missed Opportunities
My son asked me to review this for him. He loves the set nearly entirely except for a couple of things. One, he really thinks Lego missed an opportunity to use the Burt Ward '66 Robin. It also really bugs him that even though they used a period accurate and unique cowl in the Lego Batman 3 game, they used a generic run of the mill cowl for the set, which makes him look like nearly any other Batman. He did have fun building it though.

Classic Lego Batmobile Toy even I can build.
What a great classic toy! I found it pretty easy to build (for a over 60 yo man). And looks great. I like the stand and plague for display. Kinda sucks no Robin, but that is the worse thing I can say and you can find him elsewhere. The end result really looks awesome. I like the way the separated the pieces into stages. The design of the Batmobile is very true to the car used in the TV show.

good, but missing robin and flames
As a fan of the original Batman TV show, was happy to get this set. For the size, they seem to have captured the shape of the batmobile pretty well. Disappointed that Robin was not included, but appreciate the Cesar Romero joker. One thing I fixed, was the lack of a flame shooting out of the center rear exhaust port. Not sure why they didn't include the two pieces necessary to make it more authentic (see pictures)

Almost perfect, but one minifig is missing
Being someone that was born over 35 years after the series began in 1966, I can say that even I like this model. It's accurate to the show and is very unique from other sets. it's also a rather dense build, which makes it a little heavier than you'd expect. The stud shooters are nice play features, and it's cool that they can be removed and replaced with other pieces. The stand makes more displayable, and it's simple but effective. The minifigures are good. They are well detailed and are accurate to the show, albeit it would be better if they had extra detailing. The value is pretty good. It is a rather dense build and the stand adds extra value. Despite all the pros, there is one major thing missing from this set: Robin, the minifigure missing from the set. It's very disappointing that he is not in the set, and it results in the set being less complete. Despite Robin being missing, I feel this is a very good set, and I recommend it if you're interested in it.
