We opened the pool this year after draining it down to just below the intake for the winter. I had put 2 gallon of shock in a week prior to taking the cover off. It was very cloudy with a little algae in it. We have used a salt water system for 6 years prior. Had to buy this new unit this year. In 2 days the water was clear with no added chlorine or algaecide.

Disappointed
This is my third one within 2 months we lost a whole summer messing around with this system, I called intex and they could me was to try boost , WHATEVER . I have used these for 8 years and I know you only get one maybe two years if you are lucky . That is fine but for some reasons the newest model does not work .I drained my pool twice and it starts turning green within two days . The system is running and the bubbles are running through but it is not producing chorine . I had the water tested by a pool supply house and they said that I have zero chlorine. I have two more reviews left to share so if intex can reply to this one maybe I don't have to leave two more bad reviews. I am just looking for answers . You can see in the photo where I brushed the bottom of the pool to move the scum .

    Good salt water generator
    I was nervous cause I've heard a lot of horror stories that these intex have lots of issues out of the box mine has been great for a few weeks keeping the kids swimming!

    A must for chemical free swimming
    I've owned one of these before, for people who want to save their children from being subjected to the chemicals of their pool these are the way to go. No more red eyes, no discoloration of the hair or their swim suits

    Best investment ever
    If you want a pool that basically maintains itself, get this saltwater system. We have this system along with the Intex pump that came with the self cleaning robot vacuum for our above ground Coleman pool and we literally don't have to touch it. Just test the chemical balance daily to keep an eye on it. As you can see, our water stays crystal clear. We also ordered the skimmer that's pictures, so a combination of this saltwater system, the Intex pump system, and the skimmer...you have a hassle free summer of swimming. Great investment and I highly recommend!

    Great, for a couple months
    Worked great when it worked !! Bought it May 2020, plates broke and said low salt August 2020. Didn't realize until after I put 5 bags of salt into the pool. The pool tasted like a salt packet ! Called intex to replace the parts under warranty and they are out of stock (they made me take a water sample to a pool store first). Still waiting on my part 3 weeks later after they told me 1.5 weeks to get it. Just logged online to check and they never even put my address in to ship me the part !!

    This is a good choice if you would rather not have the toxicity Or hair discoloring that comes from chlorine. My white puppy is still white even though she exercises in her pool up to four times per day.

    ntex Krystal Clear Saltwater System for Above-Grou
    Had to replace an old one from 6 or 8 years ago because it just simply wore out. This is a much nicer unit even though we loved the first one we had but this is so easy to operate and a bit larger to be able to read and see the setting adjustments as well. Works like a charm the second we installed it we were getting good readings and continue to do so. This system is the only thing I recommend to all family, friends and acquaintances to attach to their pool filters for the ultimate summer pool experience! The water is super clean, no chemicals and so soft it is unreal! Dirt cheap to run....I use a bag of simple table salt (Morton) and the 40 lb bag lasts into the next year every time! LOVE the intex system!!!

    Love that I don't have to dump bleach in my pool!
    Just plugged it in today, seems to be working great. Will update review after using it for the summer. System seems to be fairly easy to navigate.
