Perfect!
Perfect! We have had an insinkerator since 1968. Couldn't do without it. Ordered it from WalMart on Apr 7th and it arrived on the 10th.

We'll see about the ongoing water quality....
InSinkerator seems to be the only brand available these days, and all made in China. I bought this particular model because it's the only one that did not have negative reviews about the water having an awful metallic taste, and hoping for the best. Unit is beautiful, large tank, easy smooth operation. The water did have bad metallic taste, the first time it was used. I poured out the entire first tankful, cup by cup, let the tank fill with cold water and boil again. Next day I did the same. The bad taste seems to have only been a "first use" problem. Probably the instructions should way to wash out the tank before installation. So.... I'm giving a good rating, instead of excellent, and hoping the good tasting water will continue with normal operation. It's scary to think that metal (lead?) might be slowly leaching out of the tank and into our tea water.

Why Didn't I Get This Sooner?
This is the best version of this type of device we have ever had. In changing the faucet on our bar sink, we took advantage of an extra hole that was left to install this. The installation was very simple and in our case we just needed the plumber for the water line. We have tea daily and this provides instant hot water at the perfect temperature for steeping tea. We've also discovered that it speeds up any sauce or gravy making exponentially. This model is a very sleek push button design and it is a great value for the price.

    Excellent hot water tap
Discuss exactly what you wanted to. It to spencers near boiling water on-demand. The tank holds a sufficient amount for many many cups and for whatever you really need it for. We are very happy with it. Took a bit of effort to install but that was to be expected.

This hot water tap works great
I was very happy with the performance and ease of installation of this hot water tap. It's too bad this tap lasted only one year. But it does have a 3 year warranty. Found local warranty repair service and had no problem replacing the unit. I hope the new unit will last longer. I have had other Insinkerater hot water taps last longer.

    Awesome value.
Make sure your outlet under the sink has 2 working plugs. Works good. We needed to turn heat down the first time.

Excellent product with one critical design flaw
I didn't read all 435 reviews of this product, so perhaps this comment has been mentioned already. Or perhaps the design has changed and my comment is no longer applicable. We had had four of these units over about 12 years. Each had eventually leaked badly under the sink after about 3 years. After this last time, my wife was ready to call it quits. With nothing to lose, I disassembled the unit to see what the problem was. I found a design flaw--a section of polyurethane tubing ran adjacent to and was touching the heating unit. With time, this section of tubing had become discolored and brittle from the heat and had cracked, causing the leak. I removed the damaged section of tubing and spliced in its place a section of copper tubing. We have continued to enjoy this same unit for another 5 years so far without any hint of a problem. Many reviews of this otherwise excellent product have mentioned that their unit had leaked, and I wonder whether those leaks could have been due to the same issue. Routing the tubing elsewhere, using metal tubing instead of polyurethane, or placing insulation between the tubing and the heating unit would prevent this problem. Or perhaps the design has changed and this is no longer an issue.

    Great but now having issues.
This unit was installed in the house that we recently purchased. For the first four months it was working great all of a sudden it started leaking made Fossett. I was trying to find information on this product which led me here. I see some refer to this as an overflow. I'm just curious to fight figure out why it is coming out the overflow. I am unable to find any technical documents could you please provide assistance?
