Extensive Review-Strongly urge to save your money
To start, if I could give this review zero stars, I would. I bought this swing about a month before I was due to have my child. I had owned the cheaper Graco version of this swing (without the removable pieces basically) with my first son. It was great and the 6 speed option was a major bonus, but due to wiring issues, around the time he outgrew it, it was basically worthless. I purchased this one despite my better judgement thinking that the more expensive version would surely be more functional. My fiancé put this swing together. He used to assemble furniture in a high end furniture store for a living, so following step by step instructions for a baby swing is no difficult task for him. He got everything put together and the first thing we noticed was that when the swing was off, the weight of the bassinet piece caused the swing to sit at an odd position. If the baby was in the bassinet piece, the baby's feet would have been elevated. It didn't swing well. Further reading of the manual stated it may need a little “push” to get going but this was more than a little push. It had to be pushed in exact time with the motor's movements or it was purposeless to push it. It would swing slowly to a stop. Mind you, we had no baby yet to we assumed maybe with the weight of a child in it, it would help. We brought our baby home and the swing failed us completely. It took countless attempts to get it to swing, and when we did, it was certainly not “gliding.” It was more accurately “clunking” forward and backward. It was painful to watch knowing between the swing and the extended warranty, we were watching 300$ crap on us in our time of need. There are countless other reviews that express similar problems as our story, and I strongly encourage you to spend your money elsewhere when it comes to this particular swing. Graco is a well known company with strong products for babies, but this is not one of them.

    A truly soothing glider
    This glider (among other things) comforts the baby easily. The various speeds offer variety. Plugs into the wall, so no battery problems. Graco is a company with a long history of excellent baby products. This is the next in line.

    My newborn sleeps great in it
    My first daughter would not sleep without laying on me so when we got pregnant with our second I knew I needed something good. I chose the soothing system because it was one of the only 3 in 1s I could find on the market that was actually safe for sleeping with no pillows sewn into the bassinet. The rocking feature was a must for me because babies like motion. The white noise feature was a deciding factor for me too but unfortunately it also makes this faint beeping noise as the noise cycle loops and I can hear it when I lay next to the bassinet in my bed. No complaints about the bouncy chair. Overall I love the soothing system but will be getting a separate white noise machine.

    When it works it's great....when it doesn't, you're stuck. Either doesn't swing at all at times or swings super slowly even when at the highest speed.

    Great for a couple of months
    Seemed like a great product at first. Daddy and my best friend put it together while I was recovering. They reported that it took the two of them several hours and some creativity to assemble. My son grew out of the bassinet far too soon for it to be worth including. After two months, the vibration in the bouncer sounded like an airplane. Now, four months in, the swing motor clicks and has a grinding sound that's louder than his white noise machine. I'd love to just throw it away but the swinging motion is often the only thing that'll get my son to sleep. On the plus side, it was a gift so I don't feel ripped off. Graco, you're better than this.

    I really love this swing/basinet combo however my baby doesn't use it as much as id like we don't ever use the basinet because he just cries in it. But every baby is different its worth a try for your baby.

    It's a Soothing must have!
    A newborn is just that, newly born. They are so used to the movement and sounds of mom. With our nearly two month old this Soothing System Glider has been just that, Soothing! It has a gliding swing, sliding bassinet, portable bouncer and bassinet all wrapped into one product. For the movement's it has two speed settings for vibrations that helps to keep our little one relaxed and feeling like she is still in the womb. The seat is very roomy but has infant support and recline to keep the baby comfortable. I absolutely love the five point harness, as it keeps our girl nice and secure! The gliding is a nice feature and it has six gliding speeds that help you find the right pace for your baby. This is a nice addition as babies needs change over time. The music is a nice added touch with ten songs and five sounds of nature. It keeps a nice atmosphere for the baby. From newborn and on the canopy has soft toys that will stimulate our baby and when she can reach them she will feel a sense of accomplishment after staring at them for so long! I also like the bassinet as it is easy to carry around and the canopy shield our baby girl from the vast changes of light from room to room. All in all this is a must have product for us and I am so glad it's a part of our life! And, while I received this product for free, the opinions and thoughts included in this review are my own.

    A must have product!
    As a first time mom, I'm always on the look out for products that can help make my day go a little smoother when it comes to my baby. While I received this product at no cost, this review expresses my own opinion. With that being said - there are not enough words to describe how perfect the smoothing system glider is. While I was 39 weeks pregnant, I put it together all by myself. I don't consider myself to be handy but the setup was not complicated nor time consuming. This system is a gliding swing, sliding bassinet, portable bouncer & bassinet in ONE! There are multiple speed settings as well as songs and nature sounds that seems to calm and soothe the baby. My absolute favorite feature is the sliding bassinet. Besides his crib, this is the only other product we own that he stays calm in and sleeps in between feedings. The canopy also is a plus as it blocks the overhead lights in our living room from disturbing him. If you are looking for a glider or swing for your baby, I HIGHLY recommend this one. You will not be disappointed.
