Very Impressed
This laptop from Gateway is one fast yet smooth. With 8 gb of ram and 256gb ssd. The processor is great. I didn't figure out how to get the Xbox game pass yet. The camera is actually a bit different then the ordinary notebooks as this one has it under rather then on top of the screen. Sound is nice and can be used for every day to day needs like Google classroom. Also has windows 10 home. It would be perfect if it was touch screen. The keyboard does light up I just can't seem to get it to actually do so. Lots to figure out all in time.

    Respectable Productivity and Gaming Laptop
I don't normally write reviews, but I have some important information for the skeptical buyers itching to press the purchase button. I got this computer for the $799 tag, which is totally worth it. Anyways.. Here's a to-do list you're going to want to do if you get this computer: 1. Buy another stick of RAM (8GB SO-DIMM DDR4 Crucial 3200MHz CL22) for $48. Be warned. The screws on the underside of the laptop are very tight, so be careful not to strip them. 2. My laptop did not come with the Gateway Control center to be able to adjust RGB backlighting and fan curves, so if you have that issue go to Eluktronic's website and download their control center for the RP-15 model because it's the same TongFang chassis. Note: I would suggest you keep the computer's fan curve on Eco mode and quiet mode. You can set a custom fan curve as well because the fans get very loud if you set it to any other mode. Gaming mode and turbo mode is completely unnecessary. 3. Disable Nvidia hybrid GPU in the BIOS. The bios can be reached by tapping the DEL key when you turn on the laptop. Change it to dGPU only. 4. This part gets a little technical, but bear with me. I recommend undervolting the CPU if you're going to be gaming because my temperatures reached 88C under load. Note however, 88C is normal for a gaming laptop, but I don't like seeing that. You can undervolt the CPU in the BIOS up to -50mv. However, I would suggest using Throttlestop. It is a free program you can get from TechPowerUp that can adjust more than just voltages. You can control the turbo boost frequencies as well. You can look up guides on how to use it or just copy my settings, because I am now getting 70C under load without sacrificing any performance. 18C is a massive reduction which would promote the longevity of your laptop. Note: Undervolting does NOT harm your CPU. My Throttlestop Settings: 1. Tick the Speed Shift - EPP box and set it to 128. 2. Click FIVR and you will see a kind of intimidating menu, but I got you. On the bottom Left, you will see turbo ratio limits. Tick 1 Core to 40, 2 Cores to 38, 3 Cores to 36, and 4 cores to 34. Effectively what we just did was reduce the CPU's max frequency turbo from 4.5 GHz to 4.0 GHz. If all cores are being utilized, then it will max out at 3.4GHz. As far as I know, gaming does not require more than 3.6GHz, but if you're rendering videos you don't have to do this. NEXT, On the top middle you will see "FIVR Control", Tick the CPU Core bubble and in the middle, adjust the "Offset Voltage" to -70mv. Tick the CPU Cache bubble, and do the same thing to the offset voltage. On the bottom right, tick "OK - Save voltages immediately". Hit apply, Ok and you're all set. When you shut down the computer, you will have to start up the program again when you turn it back on. The settings will be saved though. See image for a visual guide :) Likes: Sturdy metal construction, excellent ventilation and exhaust, high refresh rate. Dislikes: None yet.

    Amazing value
At first I wasn't considering purchasing this “gaming laptop” from Gateway, but after seeing it had an RTX 2060 and the price was $699 I'd was instantly sold and still got a 10% off as an employee discount. This particular gaming laptop from Walmart should be consider a “Great Value” product, because compared to well known brands and specifications are over $1100 and offers similar value at a cheaper price. Bought it because I needed something that didn't take allot of space and was portable too, but powerful and could be easily upgradable in the future by adding another ram stick or more storage is a plus, which explains the low price for it. At first I didn't noticed much difference in the “THX” audio, but after plugging in my earphones the sound was incredibly noticeable which I really liked. The games I have played so far at max settings and getting above 60fps are Total War: Shogun 2, Warhammer 2, Empire and Rome 2, battlefield 3-4 and Company of Heroes 1-2 so far, but optimized games should do allot better and the fan noise is acceptable and can be changed from low to high while gaming too. The only thing that could be better is the battery, mainly because while playing games unplugged you can get like 1-2 hours, but if you do simple stuff battery life is around 3-4 hours. Overall, the case is metal and feels premium, and doesn't feel hot on the keyboard while playing games while charging, but if you don't wanna spend allot of money and need something powerful and don't care much about looks than you found the right “gaming laptop” lol.

    Nice computer, good price
A notebook computer with these specs, this processor and this price? I will admit I was pretty skeptical. Glad to see the Gateway name back, even though it's really Acer. This is marketed as a gaming computer, but I will be the first to admit that I don't game. I have never held a gaming controller in my hand. That said, I'm pretty impressed. This thing is fast, and the keyboard and mouse pad layout are very nice. I actually find it easier to type on this than on a standard PC keyboard. Wi-Fi connected to my home network right away with absolutely no input from me, other than my password. That was impressive. Not overloaded with bloatware, and I was able to uninstall a couple of unwanted programs. A definite step up from my older desktop PC. The only thing I've noticed so far is I'm not horribly impressed with the battery life, but I really don't have a lot to compare it to. Just surfing the web - no video streaming, no music -I got a low battery warning after about 2 1/2 hours.

    Way to go Gateway!
All I can say is WOW! I am not an easy person to impress however I have to admit that I am impressed. The Gateway Creators Series performance notebook is a dynamo! Easy setup, Solidly constructed, yet light and compact, Boots in under 15 seconds, Decent battery life, Highly responsive to keyboard and mouse input, Crisp sound and graphics, 8 GB RAM fast, Backbit keyboard, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI, Intel i5 rocks. I mean, what is not to like about this machine? Handled all of my productivity applications and working set of 20 or so always open browser tabs with ease and power to spare. All in all, a very nice computer.

    Awesome computer
I love this computer. The keyboard buttons are large which is great. I use it for work (I am a writer/illustrator) and I love the gaming aspects. It has a great battery life. The graphics are great. The setup was super easy. It has extra ports which is helpful. The fan noise is low but I use a headset so no worries. This is a great computer. This is perfect for all of my gaming And work needs!

    Super fast
gateway Creator Series loads in seconds and has such great quality pictures. The web cam is high def which makes it one of the better ones when it comes to being on zoom. The 15.6 inch screen is nice. The 256gb ssd gives you plenty of room for all your needs. Its excellent when it comes to gaming with no lag issues. It also has intel i5 which is a really great processor for everything from your everyday task to heavy gaming. Its a nice sleek black color and doesn't weigh a lot so no lugging around a heavy computer. This one is a must buy. I always say you get what you pay for and that is no exception when it comes to electronics.
