    well, for starters, 9 Volt battery that came with smoke alarm is dead. dead. not happy at all. so i'm returning it, l hope the next one i get is not the same. the batter costs almost as much as the alarm itself. not cool.

    Unpleasantly surprised.
    Photos show an opening on the back, which I presumed would accommodate wiring for connecting all 9 units in a hard-wired configuration. Unfortunately the opening does not contain connection pins for such an installation. I will have to return the unopened units.

    Didn't trust it. The battery compartment was weird and when I tested it it did not work. Threw it out and replaced it

    The Smoke Alarm I currently have is quite old and needed to be replaced, the name First Alert remind me of the Fire Department.

    I purchased this same smoke alarm 12 years ago. Wanted to update. They recommend every 10 years. I was so happy to find this exact same one again. I didn't have to switch out the base(s). I purchased 2. They really work very well. Loud! And they come with the battery needed! For the price it really can't be beat.

    Perfect compact Smoke and Fire Alarm
    This smoke alarm fit on the ceiling outside my bedroom, in the hall way just perfect. I had been with Life Alert and they provided a smoke alarm but I sent it back with their other equipment. I needed a new smoke alarm and this First Alert had all the features I wanted plus a silencer. It is a compact alarm and uses a 9 volt battery which are available every where, this one came included in the package!
