Filter Gasket Blowout on a Fram Ultra Synthetic Oi
I've been using this filter on my 2019 Nissan 370Z since the car was new, along with the Recommended Nissan ester oil that I change every 3K miles. I take my car to a Nissan dealer for the oil changes and today the rubber sealing ring on the base of the filter blew out when the engine was started. Luckily, it happened there and not on the road, where catastrophic engine damage might have occurred. I had an OEM Nissan filter installed, after they cleaned up the oil spray mess on the underside of my engine compartment. I had thought that Fram had upped it's game quality wise on its filters since the notorious orange ones they used to make. I'm probably going to use Mann/Hummel or Purolator Pure One filters in the future.

    Great item, when you use synthetic oils, they are grantee up to 20 k miles and I don't change my oil every 3 k its to expensive and this way you safe a lot of money.

    Incompatible with oil filter wrench.
    Incompatible with oil filter wrench for similar size filters. So it's a pain to install and remove

    Only Fram filter worth trying.
    Not a big fan of Fram filters. Standard and lower end filters have cheaper build that other manufacturers. This higher end filter is better constructed.

    Filter for those using fully synthetic oil.
    Because I use fully synthetic oil in my automobiles, I have been using the Fram Ultra Synthetic XG series filters in all my vehicles for many many years.
