quality battery charger
This is a handy battery charger for compact 12v batteries and can also be used to slow charge large batteries. I charged my pickup truck battery overnight from 12.4v to 12.8v. Smaller batteries such as lawnmower, ATV, motorcycle, will charge quicker. The charger can be left on the battery for long periods of time to maintain a battery, and you don't need to use a volt meter unless you want to know the present voltage level. The plastic guards on the terminal clamps are a nice feature to keep opposite polarity metal from making contact while connecting and disconnecting the leads. Most battery chargers require the user to keep the leads separated if they don't want to cause sparks. I found that the cords have ample length to reach my vehicles. A quick disconnect lead is also supplied for installation on a battery that you want to charge regularly.

Nice unit
I received this Everstart 12V Automotive Marine Battery Charger and Maintainer (BM1E) to use on my F250 Superduty 7.3L Diesel. I bought the truck used and it seems to have a short somewhere that is draining the battery. If I don't start it every five days in the summer or every three days in the winter, it will not start. The batteries are new and I was continuing to have to charge the battery each time I needed to use the truck which was a pain. Now with the Everstart 12V Automotive Marine Battery Charger and Maintainer which I keep attached and plugged in, I have not had a problem until today, but it is 20 degrees outside with ice covering everything. Up until today, it has kept the batteries charged and ready to start the truck. I have had no problems with starting it up, disconnecting and driving it away. The unit is small, but well-made and very durable. It is easy to use and I really like the permanent wires that it came with. You can use the clamps or use the screw on wires, which I do. It has a quick release harness for both. The only cons I can see are it is only 1 amp and the permanent wire is too short. If the wire were about eighteen inches long, it would be fantastic. Then I could leave the unit under the hood and have the wire come out the front for easy access. Also, if it were three amps it would be better. Otherwise this is a great inexpensive unit that does the job.

    The most compact charger.
This Ever Start battery charger and maintainer is so compact better then the old heavy balky 12 volt chargers. This charger may be small but it performers as well as the bigger ones. I like the idea that you can leave it on the battery and it maintains the capacity. The indicator lights lets you know if the battery is charging or is maintaining the battery at optimal capacity. There is also a indicator light if you happen to connect the cables to the wrong terminals. Comes with either clamps or terminal rings. I used it on my rider lawn mower battery, and as pictured on my trolling motor battery. I will be using it more on my marine battery after each use. So small you can keep it in your glove compartment, or in a drawer. I will never go back to using my 5 pound battery charger. Great product, easy to use, looks great and would recommend to anyone who has a car, rider lawn mower, or a boat battery for your charging needs.

    EverStart Automatic 12V Battery Charger
This battery charger is so light weight and compact that fits in my pocket, but powerful enough to charge any 12V battery. It has 3 LED indicators: - Charging mode - Fully charged - Reverse connections That allows to safely charge battery. In case if by mistake I connect negative contact to positive battery contact the reverse connection LED indicator will let me know about it, so I will reconnect the wires correctly. I like it because it is easy to connect to battery without dismounting it from my mover, generator or even car. It is a good complement to my workshop.

Keeps battery charged when not using car
This Everstart 12 volt battery maintainer/charger is intended to keep a car (or marine) battery from going totally dead when the vehicle is not being used on a regular basis. A car is constantly drawing a trickle amount of power from the battery even when it is turned off, thus over a period of time the battery will die unless the vehicle is driven so the alternator can recharge the battery, or a device like this is used to provide a slow charge and maintaining the battery. I am using this on my 2002 Jeep Wrangler which is a second "fun" vehicle for me and there are times I will not drive it for a month or more at a time. So far it is working good, keeping the battery charged while the jeep is parked in the driveway in the Arizona climate. Before I had this device, I was using a battery disconnect switch that was unscrewed at the battery terminal - which was not an ideal situation because the alarm system can not be activated, and also because the battery - even with no connection, gradually degrades over time. This is a much better solution, even though it does require having an extension cord run to an outlet.

Great device for maintaining car batteries
First this is a light compact device that works well. The cables supplied with it are plenty long for my applications (see photos below). I am using it to keep battery charged in vehicles I don't use very often. It has indicators for charging, fully charged to keep you in the know about status. It has an extra cable allowing you to leave attached to the battery (or wiring) so you don't have to reach the battery terminals every time you hook it up. The unit does not get hot when in use for long periods.

    Nice
I wanted to use this as a trickle charger as I go away months at a time. However I notice this thing gets warm and I don't think having something that warm while away is a good idea. However that being said I won't hold this against this product as I notice they have separate products that work as a trickle charger. This thing won't charge a completely dead battery right away but should get it charged up enough to start and recharge the whole battery overnight. It's really small and doesn't take a rocket scientist to use.

    Portable Charger
I run a tight ship in my home for being nice and tidy. The Everstart 12 volt battery charger was the perfect choice for me. For starters the compact size of the charger is great for me to easily store away the battery charger until needed. As you can see in my photo, the charger has very long cabling that enables them to reach a great distance. You can also see the Might Max Battery I utilized with the charger. It did a great job charging it back up so that my kids can stay on the go with their power wheels. The other feature I like is the fact that you can switch out the batter clamps. You just pull apart the connector between the clamp & wire to separate them. Included is O-rings that has a connector in case your battery requires that setup. I wasn't able to test the O-ring adapters, but I know I will be able to utilize those on my family's jet-skis batteries since they have that connection. As I mentioned before, the size of this makes it easy to take on the go for whenever you need it. Overall, I'm very pleased with the overall packaged deal that this battery charger provides.

    Must have for stored vehicles.
Everstart 12V Automatic Automotive and Marine Battery Charger and Maintainer is tiny compared to my dumb bulky analog charger ( Check photo) and a must have for a stored classic car. The 10 ' feet 120v AC plug works with most 12v Lead- acid batteries including GEL, AGM, and WET for Lawnmowers, ATVs, motorcycles, boats, cars and trucks. Don't expect to charge an almost dead or a weak battery with this 1 amp charger because it could take forever, but to keep a healthy battery charged for long storage a 1-2 amp maintainer works fine for battery longevity. Battery don't like to stay under 12.4v. Actually it's much better to slow charge a battery using 1-2 amps to prolong the battery's life. There are 3 led indicator lights. (Orange = charging, Green = Charged, Red = reverse connection). These new automatic smart chargers know not to overcharge a battery so you set it and forget it. There are 2 types of connection cables, a battery ring terminal & battery clamps with quick connector adapters. I'm using the charger on my classic car which is not daily driven. Some cars have their battery hidden inside the trunk but have +/- charging ports accessible under the hood. Extension cords are not recommend and make sure to top off your battery fluid (distilled water) before charging and check the voltage every week. I do recommend this charger for maintaining your battery for storage but if you need to charge a weak battery, then go with a 10amp or higher charger.
