So lightweight and great for travel!
We previously were using a car seat that was a lot heavier, rated highly for safety and could also be used without a base so we were familiar with the concept that this car seat offers My biggest reason for wanting to try this car seat was the fact it was lightweight. Full disclosure, we were given the car seat for free by Stellar product testing panel in exchange for our honest review. So here it is- The car seat is WAY lighter than our previous car seat, seems to provide a snug fit for little one and we've been so happy with it we went and ahead and bought an stroller from the same brand too which we love as well. If you're looking for something that's easy to travel with (no base needed), lightweight and overall easy to use I would definitely recommend this seat! My back and shoulders are definitely thanking me for making the switch!

poor design
I bought this seat for my 4th baby and I honestly hate it. I've used Evenflo seats with all of my kids and been very happy with each purchase. I decided to get this one because of the brand and the affordable cost. pros: -color -lightweight -sturdy handle for carrying -low price cons: -buckle system is incredibly inconvenient, it's hard to buckle the baby when he's wiggling or crying. -takes extra effort to adjust shoulder straps -base was hard to install and I had to use a rolled towel to get it level, even with the towel the seat is so straight up and down that it makes his head roll forward. -it's hard to get the seat in and out of the base, if my baby is asleep and I have to snap it in the base he usually wakes up. -machine washed the cover 4 or 5 times and colors are fading -canopy is always in the way, I ended up taking it off Overall I do not recommend this infant seat. I've had good luck with all other Evenflo car seats, but I feel like this one has a poor design.

    Perfect fit for premies
    I'll preface this with I hate bucket seats, all of them. This one however is pretty amazing. My twins left the hospital weighing 4lbs each and this seat adjusted down to fit them amazingly. It doesn't need all the bells and whistles and extra paddings when the straps adjust perfectly. It is super light weight made it great to carry both. It's cool in the summer heat. My only complaint is the crotch buckle. It's really hard to hold the pieces together and snap them between tiny legs. I prefer the separate ones not the ones that hold together then snap in. Oh and the base takes a minute to get used to because you have to tilt the seat under the hook at the foot of the base.

    Perfect spare seat
    It's always nice to have a spare car seat for an infant, whether for grandparents or babysitters. This seat is a great choice for a spare because it is easy to install, easy to carry baby around in, and versatile in how it can be secured into the car. My three-week-old seems to feel very comfortable in this seat. He falls asleep right away when we start driving him anywhere in it. The straps adjust easily, but they don't seem prone to twisting around like some car seats. He seems both secure and cozy in this one. The seat is very lightweight, and I found it pretty easy to install. It feels very secure when it's strapped in either with the seatbelt and no base, or with the base attached to the car. I find that I have a little trouble nesting the seat into the base, and I have to check to be sure it's snug. However, it is very easy to tell if it isn't nested correctly and—once it's in place— it is obviously quite securely attached. The seat really is light, so I'm sure it would be easy to carry a baby around in it. I tend to baby-wear, so I don't have a lot of need for carrying a baby in a car seat. For those who do, this would likely be an especially good seat to own. I will say that this carseat doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. There isn't an extra cushion for the back of the head, although there is an adjustable shade that can go over the seat, like most car seats. It might be that, for a primary car seat, you may want to go for something a little fancier. But, all in all, this is a safe, simple, solid car seat that would be perfect for a spare seat.     Great car seat for travel
    Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this car seat for review. My favorite feature of this car seat would be how light weight it is and easy to carry, making it an excellent product for travel by plane. Installation of this car seat without base is convenient if you need it in two cars yet only have 1 base, an excellent feature for parents that share duties of taking care of their littles from the early stages. However, the vehicle seat belt goes over the child's legs (the space above the legs) meaning you can't remove the child out of the car seat without removing the vehicle seat belt. I didn't like that it didn't come with shoulder pads, thin ones for a newborn make it more comfy for them. The shade canopy comes detached but it is easy to attach and provides good shade. The adjuster strap is easy to pull to adjust the harness straps. The harness strap clips need to be connected first then pushed into the buckle together. The carrier handle has 3 position options. I think the buttons that you need to push to get the car seat out of the base aren't that easy to push, making it difficult to push on both sides while pulling the car seat up. I have attached a picture showing what the buttons look like, sadly the video can't be uploaded to show I had some difficulties pushing both sides in and getting the car seat out of the base. To my conclusion, I will use this car seat for our vacations with airplane, but prefer a more sturdier car seat for every day use.

    Evenflo NurtureMax Infant Car Seat
    I received the Evenflo NurtureMax Infant Car Seat from the Stellar product panel and I have to say, myself and my baby are enjoying it alot! The installation of the base, a part that I normally dread, was such a breeze I did it myself! The anti rebound properties made me feel secure while setting my baby in it. It is incredibly user friendly and the features are easily accessible. One thing i was worried about was the back of the carseat being too hard against my babys back, but she was super comfortable (pictured) and was playing in the carseat which is something she rarely does. One of the cons Id say, is that it isnt as lightweight as I had hoped. It felt almost the same weight as my regular carseat of choice. All in all it is a product I would recommend, especially for moms on a budget!

    Positives: Super lightweight. I love how easy it is to move the handle! That was one of my biggest gripes with our old seat fabric looks almost stain resistant. Easy to remove and wash cover, crazy easy to reinstall. Way way easy to set up definitely an open and go product. EVERYthing is very self explanatory with this seat. I will likely continue to use it. Will be especially useful when baby gets bigger and I won't have to fight with the added weight of the seat. Great price point, very cost effective. Awesome seat for busy moms with lots of kids and jetting around town. The weight and was of carrying make this seat pretty great. Big thanks to Stellar Testing Panel for the opportunity to test this seat. It's definitely going to get good use. Negatives: If my baby falls asleep, her head flops from side to side when I turn the car because there really isn't enough padding and the seat super wide. This particular problem is easily solved with a rolled up muslin blanket. I wouldn't put her in it for one of our 12 hour car rides because I highly doubt she'd be comfortable. Very hard. It is incredibly easy to do the car seat carry where you wrap your arm around the side of the handle and hold onto the seat but where your fingers hold on, it's kind of sharp plastic. Very uncomfortable so I'll likely add some padding there. I do wish the shade came forward a bit more. It's hard to block the sun when it's directly overhead.

    I was given this car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I wanted to like this car seat but my son found it extremely uncomfortable. There isn't very much padding, no comfortable headrest, and my son's feet kept hitting the hard base of the car seat. This seat would work better for smaller babies: for reference my son at six months is approximately 18 lbs. and almost 30 in. long. While the car seat is made affordable, I think you get what you pay for and I feel like a more expensive car seat would provide better affordability because you would be able to use the car seat longer as well as providing more comfortable fabric and material for the baby to sit in. I also found it quite difficult to click the car seat in and out of the base. I do like that you are able to use the car seat with or without the base because it makes it easier for travel or a second vehicle. Lastly, I didn't really care for the design or quality of the materials. It felt very flimsy and again, my son did not like the feel of it. The canopy does not come down far enough to cover enough sunlight and the handle on the car seat doesn't seem very stable. It seemed to get stuck when moving from front to back position. Overall, I personally would not recommend this car seat to family or friends.

    We received the car seat and extra base from stellar product testing panel and installed them in both cars. Installation was easy and quick. The car seat and base were lightweight but felt flimsy. It was difficult to snap into the base and the straps didn't loosen enough, making it difficult to buckle the child in. The mechanism that allowed the carry handle to adjust by pressing it in was handy and made that particular action easier to do with one hand while carrying our other child.

    Light weight and convenient
    The Evenflo NurtureMax Infant Car Seat was so easy to use. It was super light in comparison to others I have tried, the weight was a really attractive feature about this seat!! My husband has a super tall truck so getting him in and out was so easy because of how light it was. I tried installing it without the base and it was super easy and seemed secure but I would only do it that way in a pinch because I thought the anti rebound base was just so much more effective, but it's nice to have the option if the grandparents (babysitter) had to take him somewhere. My absolute favorite thing about this seat (and my husband's as well) is the way the handle functions - instead of pushing a button on either side at the same time - all you have to do is push down on the handle and move to the setting you want. It was just so smooth and I could even do it one handed!! I am so excited that I got to tryout this car seat! A BIG thank you to Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me this seat to try out!

    A Car Seat for the Safety-Conscious Minimalist
    Lots of car seats have many different features that appeal to a variety of folks, but the Evenflo NurtureMax Infant Car Seat, that I received gratis from the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review, is specifically for the safety-conscious minimalist. There are very few contraptions and gizmos all over the seat and the base, and no buttons to speak of except for the belt for the latch system. It is SERIOUSLY light. A bit unnervingly light, and the foam bits in the back don't exude confidence. That said, it has been tested at twice the national standard for car seat safety, including rollover, temperature, and structural integrity testing. Therefore if you can wrap your brain around how something so light can be so safe, this is the car seat for you. I've had multiple infant car seats between my three kids, and this is easily the lightest and easiest to carry around. Shockingly easy. You can tell its weight gives it high marks in my book. I'm someone who likes to leave baby in the carrier and put the whole lot in shopping carts, or bring it with me when I know baby will sleep, so car seats often get a good bit of work as a carrier in my life. Hands down, this is the easiest carrier for actually carrying an infant that I have ever used. It took me some time to understand how to move the handle (push down, since there is no button), but I actually really like that feature -- again, very minimalist in my book. Regarding the installation, it was as easy as any other car seat base on the market, but getting the feel for inserting the car seat into the base took some time. I struggled to get the angle right such that the tabs locked into the base for a couple of days. While very secure, it was unlike my previous experiences. We have not had an opportunity to travel with this system yet, but I imagine it will be so much easier to lug this carrier/base around than any carrier we have used in the past.
