alcohol?
tastes horrendous and burns like a shot of bad tequila. my child made a horrible face when taking it so I tried it. i was nauseous for 20 minutes afterwards.

    I use the Equate Children's Cough Cherry flavor liquid for my five kids (ages 6-10) and it is great at stopping those nagging coughs that just won't stop. I had never heard of this product (same ingredients as Robitussin) until I worked on a Navy Hospital Ward and had a cough that was so annoying that one of the Doctors ordered the Corpsman to give me a dose of this. STOPPED THAT COUGH DEAD!!! Have used this since--and the Equate brand is every bit as effective as the name brand, and lets me keep a little extra money for other necessities.
