Worth the 7-month wait and Two Cancellations
It took me seven months and two back-ordered cancelled transactions to finally land this vest, it was worth the wait. The fit is a true EB/FA athletic cut, I really like the flex side fabric to unreatrictive movement, and the Navy color combo is just right. Daniel

You've got to be kidding me!
Warmth is about loft. Period. This garment is thin. To describe this "vest" as anything you'd consider taking out of doors where it might actually be cold, even as a layer, is (to put it nicely) generous. My photos show what Eddie Bauer has done to vests over time. First, nice big chambers in which good down can actually loft (you know, keep you warm), second, where we start with rows of stitches making loft difficult. now, double the amount of stitches to make loft impossible. Great down does no good if it can't loft. Get it for fashion but don't kid yourself: look elsewhere for warmth. I'm returning it.

    Leaks down
I should know better. This is the second EB down item I've purchased in the past two years. Like the first, it leaks down. After wearing it a few times you'll notice little bits of down poking out of the seams. You'll pull them out, and then a day later you'll see more. I understand that any down item will lose a feather here or there, but with both EB items I've owned, the leakage is excessive compared to items from other manufacturers. Like the down parka I purchased from them two winters ago, this will be going back.

Nice vest, very hard to engage zipper bottom, tiny teeth
Over all Quality of vest was good except for the functionality of all 3-exterior zippers were too small. The front main zipper's pin & mouth mechanism are too tiny to start engagement. Even with bare-hands it was difficult to start engagement. Tended to hang up at start of engagement because of loose thread at its bottom. Due the smallest of the zippers, the vest material pulled into the zipper on all 3-zippers causing the need to un-zip and try again. I can imagine it would be too difficult with freezing hands and with gloved hands, which I tried, it was impossible to start engagement. Returned it.

    Ideal warmth, no bulk
Stormdown is great - vest alone, jacket alone, vest & jacket together...those three combos covers everything from 50's to 20's...every activity from all-day hiking in 20 degree with snow to splitting firewood in the 30's to running errands in the 40's...and absolutely no bulk.

    Core Heater!
Great for layering under a cotton sweatshirt or over a light fleece jacket. When you need something to warm your core and trying not to show you're in winter wonderland. I carry this with me even my travel to the tropics.

    Most versatile vest I own
When I opened it up. I was thinking I don't like this. Still I had to try it out, and is now my go to vest south this crazy 2016-17 winter weather we are having.

    So far, so good.
I have only had it for a few weeks, but have worn it several times. I wore it in a light rain today and the water ran right off. I'm 6'2 and 200 lbs and the XL tall is a tad large on me. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    NIce fit
Most vests I've seen have large side profiles. This vest fits snug to your body as the sides are fabric. That combined with the warmth it provides (800 fill down) makes it the perfect vest for being active in chilly and cold temperatures. My daughter says I look like Han Solo in mine so that's an added benefit as well.

    Exactly what i was expecting
Bought this vest for my husband. He says it fits and feels great. Keeps my husband nice and warm. I don't think it would've been a great value at full price, but got it on the 40% off day and that made it reasonable. The quality is top notch.. exactly what you would expect from Eddie Bauer.
