    christmas gift
My son was bummed that it didnt have the stars and images in the same view. you have to manually flip it over to view stars on one end and then flip again and insert disks to view images.

    Nice toy
Very nice and very well made. Love the fact that the machine has an option of setting it up so your room is covered in stars. Do not like that you manually have to turn the discs to see the planets. I wish they automatically turn. There are only 3 discs and they are a little difficult for a 3 year old to install. There is a real nice easy way to focus the picture but I don't know if my grandson will be able to use it yet. A fun toy that really lights up his room!

It did not have any way to identify what you are looking at. It does not label them or have a booklet to show you which one is which. As a learning toll not good but it does work nicely.

    Educational and fun!
My children have been playing with and carrying this planetarium projector around everywhere for the last month. It's easy to set up and use. My two year old has no problem turning it on by herself. She does however, need help putting in the planet slides.(3 are included) they can be a little difficult to slide in completely. The projector is very quiet except it does make a ticking sound as it is rotating through the stars. The projected picture is not very big the farther away you move it from the wall the less clear it becomes. It does require 3 AA batteries (not included) but if your kids fall asleep with it on not to worry, it has a 30 minute auto shut off which is a good feature. The only thing that could be better than that is, if it didn't require batteries at all and was rechargeable like other electronics. If you like space, or star gazing I recommend this projector. I hope they come out with an expansion set of disks for this projector. I prefer the star mode myself, it is such a brilliant blue. If you live in a big city like I do, you don't get to see that many, this projector makes you feel as if you were camping out under the stars.

    Great learning tool!
This is a great space projector and it make a great learning tool for my 5yr old daughter. All it needed was 3 AA batteries. The projector comes with 3 interchangeable discs that can be turn, while inserted, to display multiple images of the planets/galaxies. You can switch between 2 modes (Stars or Space) In Star Mode, one end of the projector projects a bunch of stars which my daughter loves as a night light. Good thing the projector LED auto turn OFF after 30 mins of being ON. If not, the battery sure would not last. In Space Mode, the other end is used to project the image found on the 3 disc. Since each image is different, you will need to turn the top to focus the image. My daughter is into science, so it was fun to talk about the planet and the solar system using this projector before her bedtime.

    battery operated portion built incorrectly
The springs and parts for putting in batteries were installed incorrectly, so my husband had to take it apart. The wiring was done correctly. It took about 5 minutes to figure out. There are cool pictures on the slides. The projector turns off after 30 minutes of use to save batteries. I also liked that there are 2 settings, star, or projector.

    This toy is cool!
My five year loves anything space, and this toy was a really cool addition to his other space themed toys. High quality product. Easy for little hands to use. Love the multiple slides that show planets and galaxies. Very educational. We love that when you put the stars on the ceiling, they slowly rotate, making it more comforting at night than a usual stand still star projector.
