overall very nice unit only had it for a week so hopefully it last no real complaints I would recommend this for decorations not a heat source and great price al most 600.00$ less than local dealer

I purchased what I thought was gonna be an electric fireplace but all I received was a piece of fake wood and two boxes of rocks. I reached out to them and all they said was send pics of what I got. Now it's been 5 days since I've heard from them. Still no response. Didn't want to put a star but I had to in order to submit this review.

    not sure if I would buy again at this time.
    The flame effect is good and the color ""choices"" give you a neat effect . there is a problem with the control board as I am not able to adjust the heat. customer service is sending a tech out to replace.

    Perfect Linear Size For My Instalation Location
    Although I would have liked to purchase a wider unit, I had limited linear space available to use an Electric Fireplace. Even 48"" would have been too long. Remodeling was out of the question and there was virtually only ONE space where a fireplace could be used and enjoyed by those sitting in the Family Room. I chose this unit because of the size and because of the Dimplex name - I had purchased a much simpler Dimplex fireplace insert years ago and was happy with it. As for mounting, recessing into a wall was not an option. For wall mounting, I was only able to attach to one stud. The supplied anchors were used for 2 additional attachment points into drywall. Take care when deciding the mounting height. I had to mount it perhaps lower than desired to avoid interference with an existing light switch. Calculating unit measurements, I found that the actual ""top"" of the frame would be about 3"" ABOVE where the mounting bracket was installed. Quality of the unit and supplied parts was good. Packaging was excellent as no damage was done in shipping this fairly heavy unit. It works well and we like the simulation. We also liked the driftwood accessory kit. The remote works well although I have not been able to change the default temperature readout from C to F by following instructions. No big deal as we don't really expect to use the heat function much if at all. Since ""wall"" outlets are rated 15 or 20 amps, max, you can't expect to get more heat than that from a standard hair dryer. And then, if you have other items on the same circuit, like a TV, you may not be able to power everything.

    Loved this at first but fire effect and lights quit after 7M
    I originally wrote a good review for this product as I really liked it. I used it VERY infrequently from Oct-April maybe a couple days out of each month and now the flame effect just quit, at the same time the remote control was completely non-responsive. heat and power button on the unit itself works but everything else is dead :( I certainly hope fireplacesdirect or Dimplex will do something to help.

    Great look for beach place
    this look is great with the driftwood and river rocks. Adding some from the beach made it even more attractive. i was surprised how quiet it is. and having actual thermostat control makes it a great primary heat source for a room or a smaller cabin like mine.
